there should be a special edition of S.P.I.C.E after the OBL...anyway the effect of team building is showing in the classes with people getting to know each other too well and publicly appreciating the bonds

XIMB has switched to Google Apps (Mail and lots of other services) from the traditional Squirrel Mails which most B-Schools across the world use...

Now, we use our official (institute) mail ids (u10XXXX@stu.ximb.ac.in / xyz@ximb.ac.in) with the Gmail interface...with 2.8 GB of server space, lightening fast speed, and loads of other tools (Gtalk, Documents, Spreadsheets, Calendar, etc) which come with the usual Gmail Services...we can as well check our mails on blackberry or WAP phones...

probably, XIMB is the first B-School in the country to avail this service... afterall, if its technology, its XIMB first!

Welcome to Maxinations, easily the biggest “one of its kind” in-house event of XIM, Bhubaneswar. A legacy that saw its birth as an advertising game (Ad-Mad) in 1992 has traversed for over a decade and a half, with growing levels of fun, intensity, passion, competition, verve and adrenaline each year. Conducted by MAXIM, the marketing Association of XIM, the three day event sees the best brains of the country slogging it out in pursuit of the supremacy of their respective hostel blocks. Like every year, this year sees six teams, A Block, B Block, C Block and D Block of the PGP Men’s Hostel, RMH (PGP Women’s Hostel) and the RM (Rural Management Hostel) lining up against each other – eye to eye.

Maxinations tries to hone the skills of the students right from developing marketing strategy to new product development to branding of the product and then advertising and marketing it to the rest of the world. This not only puts the students on a higher portal but also brings them closer to real marketing world. Every year, during Maxinations students are given a product/ service theme and each of the blocks has to come up with a product/service related to the theme. This event gets the creative juices flowing and lots of innovative products coming in. Simulation games are designed by the core committee members of MAXIM, in which the blocks have to take various marketing decisions related to a given product. The decision of best marketing strategy is decided by the experienced faculty members of XIMB. Beside marketing plan and strategy implementation, students get other avenues to showcase their talent in events like Brand Equity Quiz and General Quiz, Maxim-ize- a complete marketing strategy simulation game, Ad Making Competition, Dramatics, Singing, Dance Competition, Sudoku, Mix n Max and a lot more.

To sum it up Maxinations is a wonderful amalgamation of marketing, strategy and wit coupled with lots and lots of fun. That is what makes it one of the most eagerly awaited events among the students of XIMB.

And they thought its over, it will never be seen again, nobody can bring it back to life !!! Its time, for me to dig deep and muster every ounce of creativity and wit to come out with the biggest, the most controversial and the funniest SPICE ever. Byzantine i would definately need your help with the heavy artillery, bcoz im planning to blow ppl away this time. Im sure my coord is a happy man right now
