I decided to post some material which i think is usefull.
If you still have some Q's please don't hesitate to ping me an email.
Sorry that i confused most of you. Yes i am currently studying aswell as working. I am studying part time as i am heading the position of Operations & Strategy here at gametel (www.gametel.com).
Luckily my employer is paying for my fees, based on my credits each semester.
Let me answer your questions individually.
1. Does it provide campus placements like B schools here in India?
Ans: Absolutely yes, well most of the time even before you finish your garduation you are picked more often in your internship.
Since most people who study at MBS already have atleast 3-10 years of work experience, the opportunities for networking are so high, that anyone would have little difficulty in finding the right job.
I would strongly recommend FRESHERS not to think of doing the programme at any of the IVY league schools, as it will not add any value. This is a programme designed based on your daily experiences at work place.
2.What is the brand value MBS enjoys?
Ans: Its an Ivy League school. MBS is 55% owned by Corporate business houses, so most of the teaching in highly practical. Its rated No.1 by financial times. MBS is rated higher than AIM (Asian Institute of Management), IIM's in India, Hong Kong School of Economics etc in the Asia Pac.
Also forbes has rated MBS and AGSM as one of the top programmes in Asia pacific ahead of AIM, HSE.
Well Melbourne Business School stands on equal footing with INSEAD, LBS, STERN, IMD or any IVY leauge school.
If you take UK immigration departing giving special quota for students who study in the top 50 business schools in the WORLD. That will assist you in benchmarking the school.

I hope the above 2 links will clear your doubts.
So that gives you an indication.
Yes if you study full time MBA at Melbourne Business School (MBS) then u will have good chance of getting a
PR.
http://www.mbs.edu/main.cfm?pid=775 3. How do recruiters perceive MBS?
Ans: I would say quite highly as ordinary recruiters dont come here, its all done by executive recruiters like Hewitt Associates, Morgan Banks etc.
4.Is it worth the money?
Ans: I think based on the info, it does. I would also advise you to browse MBS website thoroughly as most of this is there.
They even have the placement statistics.
5.Is an Australian MBA considered at par with other MBAs around the world – most importantly, an American or an Indian MBA?
Ans: Once again if you look at the student exchange programs of MBS, it gives an indication. As Ivy League schools only exchange students from other Ivy League schools.
6.What about opportunities in IT consulting – how is the consulting scenario at MBS and in Australia (both strategy and IT)?
Ans: The current market scenario looks good. If you are planning to join Lehman Brothers/Booz Allen Hamilton/Goldman Sachs etc.
I am coming to India on March 24th, 2006 and will be there untill April 14th, 2006, if you would like to catch up just ping me a call on +91-94407-22999.
