i spoke to ad-com at GLIM..and they said its a technical thing and have to spk to some guy in mumbai!
was it the same way last year? any inputs people??

-->Check whether you put the correct mail id.
If yes,
-->check the Junk mail/Spam mail folders(sometimes mails are directed there)
If it doesn't help then shoot a mail to Great Lakes id given in downloadable admission brochure "quoting your email id".

Don't worry, the institute will help you in this case.

Password mail was immidiate (may be 10 minutes delay) in my case.
I suggest you contact Adcom or idbi bank. Check if the money has actually gone from your card.

Hi FnS,
Agree that the signed 'hard' copy of reco's need to be submitted. But the reco's can be created 'using' computer. As I understand, currently we have take a print out of PDF, then my recommnder has to use pen to fill this. This is tedious and messy atleast for the recommender who's not applying himself. (Atleast in IT! forget my reco's even I haven't written more than a line or 2 in years using a pen!)
Wouldn't it make more sense to let him create the reco using computer, then take a printout and sign and counter sign on each page. for one, he gets to use backspace instead of scratching off..

hope I made sense here.

Hi,
I am fairly new to this thread. I have few clarifications regarding GLIM.

1. What is the minimum cut-off in CAT for getting a call from GLIM.
2. I went through the website and found the highest salary was some 25 l.p.a and few more companies gave offer around 15-20 lpa as per the announcement in their placement report but the average salary is 7 lpa. why is that the average is pretty low when compared to the highest/higher ones.
can some one clarify me on this.
3. I heard that GLIM is shifting to some other location. is it true?
4. I have around 1.5 + years of work experience and for this profile what might i expect to be cutoff or is it the same as freshers

Last one

5. How about the loans and scholarships (if any)

Do clarify me on the above aspects.

Cant really help if ur application gets messy if u handwrite the reco letters....
pls note the following points:
--> when u ask for reco from ur bosses and ask them to write it down, they do not get much annoyed bcoz 1)it is the more accepted way of doing it and 2) he/she is extremely busy to write it down.... im talking from my personal experience... i myself took reco from one of the so called 'hot-shot' guys of the industry and he had no problems doing that... so go ahd and ask for the best person for the reco ! and yes, pls be rest assured that the recos shud be handfilled only...

Answers:
1. Cut-off will depend on the applications(go thru' the previous posts)
2. Avg was 7.3... yes, not many ppl got in the range of 15-20L.. also there were more freshers who pulled down the salaries a bit on the avg. The overall figure stood @ 7.3
3.Not in next 1 yr <almost confirmed>
4. cut-off s wont change bcoz of high no. of applicants with considerable work x.
5. Loans-yes Schol - No

Do get back for more details.
