Suppose if I want to take HR as major then i have to take another 11 course (for major) and 4 other minor subject.

In total, 30 courses (15+15) needs to be completed if dual specialization is required.

PL. correct me if my understanding is not correct.

Nope...ur understanding is not correct....i want to say that u cant do dual degree...u can only take one major (11 courses)....one minor (5 courses) n rest 4 courses u can choose...
If u wanna do finance as major then choose 11 subjects from finance...and say HR as minor then u have option of choosing 5 courses in HR.

There are total of 20 courses all that u can take....including ur minor n major....
u can only do major in one subject only n not two...

Week interviewing Great Lakers - 14-08-2006, 10:43 PM

TMI First, the pioneer in entry level hiring's across India, has beenretained by THE WEEK magazine to carry out a survey into the less writtenabout aspects of the MBA psyche. In the next two weeks TMI will be visiting16 best B-Schools in 7 Indian Cities. News is Great Lakes is one among the list.
Watch out for the survey results...GLakers wish to see GLakes to be in the top...

BTW GLakes blogspot has not been active recently bcoz of the govt's ban on blogging sites. Also we were kindda busy with Kotler's visit and exams. Nyways we would be updating it more frequently from now....

Abhijeet Bhaduri- author of recent instant success book- "Mediocore but Arrogant" was here yesterday. We had a great lecture by him. It was a bit refreshing for us as the speaker this time was mainly talking about non management stuff with a mix of HR view. By the end of the lecture we laughed in such a way that we had cramps in stomach.

He also shared his PepsiCo HR experiences with our HR club members and gave some insights abt people management.....

Great Lakes Admission Query - 06-09-2006, 11:30 AM

Hi Guys,
This is for all at Glakes any others who wonder as I do. Glakes will announce it's final results in march and Classes start in April. There's a gp of about a month in between.
How can a working professional make a move in one month! You do have notice period to serve before you can leave the company. In real world, you wouldn't like to resign before you know the results if you are in or not.
It is a concern for many people I know. It sure is for me!

For ppl having more than 2 yrs of wrk ex, this might not be the ptoblem as they wud be leaving the company on academics grounds. The same thing happened last yr and we are well aware of the situation. If we had to take the CAT sores, this is the earliest time when we could conduct the interviews... rest assured we wud ensure from our side such that u face the least hassle to make ur admissions a smooth one.......

The laptop is compulsory. If ur existing laptop fits with the system requirements, then its ok... we wl let u know every laptop detail once u secure ur admissions...
