Ya Pal i am workin in IVS which is a core Testing dept.......Had earlier thought to gain atleast 4 yrs wor ex before goin for an MBA...But i guess 2+ years is not bad either ...i m planning to apply in phase 2 .
i m just a little concerned about interview part ......
Cud u please give a detailed scenerio of u r interview and any specific points that we should keep in mind while drafting Essays.

My interview was a little Hatke.
Though i too had a 1.5 yrs of work ex at mbt , i wasn't asked anything abt my experience at MBT.
In one of my essays i had mentioned about my small Agri businesss venture and how it turned out to be a failure. my interview basically revolved around that. they asked me what the proposal was, from where i got that idea, why into agriculture from IT. all that stuff. in short they were expecting me to convince them that i had actually got into something like this. and i think i did that successfully.
then the next question was choose between XLRI and GLIM.
i dont know why they asked me , may be because i told them that i am writing XAT.

at first i said that i will have to think over it if i get through XLRI, why bother my brains now, when i feel that my chances of making it to XLRI are dim.
but on their repeated insistence i said i would take up XLRI bexause it is some 30-35 urs old institution wheras GLIM is only 2 yrs old and yet to create a niche for itself.

I am really not the right person to answere this question of yours as i write my essays in 2 days time. and it was a great pain for me. but yeah i did do a lot of googoling

. but as manik rightly mpointed out, it wud be a good idea to get your essssays checked by somebody.
can u brief me abt ur profile , so that i can think of possible questions that can be asked at ur interview
