Applications undergo screening and subsequently shortlisted for GD/PI. The screening happens at the admission office. The whole application package is the basis for shortlisting and not any one parameter/part of application.

hi guys

me bk, after my interview in kol (11th march).
just sharing my exp, in case tis of help 2 neone.

hd my gd for 10 min. topic was "ethics n value creation".
we were 7 of us, n at d end of gd we all hd one min 2 speak n provide conclusion for d topic.
after a wait of abt 2 hrs my interview started.
interview was pretty cool, not only for me,but for everybody who was present there. (so,basically dat's attributed 2 d panel)
they asked me 2 go thru my life in half min. though found half a min too less to speak 27 yrs of life dat hv spent till now,but tried 2 finish my funda in dat much time.
next was "why i want 2 quit merchant navy". dat was d easiest of all d questions dat i could answer,coz i know y i want 2 do dat."
dey asked me as 2 wot all places hv i visited till now. gave dem a big list of countries. dat included argentina, on which we hd bit of discussion. abt argentina economy, etc.
dey asked me that y am not goin 2 ne other clg for mgmt, y glim? so,dat also hd personal reasons, which would surely vary from person 2 person.
finally dey asked me about baba ramdev's controversy. i chose 2 speak less on d topic coz dis controvesy is a real controversial matter, i never knew wot dey favoured 2 hear.
dat' it. den a final polite sentence saying dat my interview was over.
wd b happy if ne of us can benefit fm dis.

there were a total of 15 guys/gals dere. break up is 12/3.

wish me luck friends. results probably by next friday.

the gd topic thora oopar se ja raha tha,par d first person 2 speak took us to discuss about ethics n its importance in business(creating values). so we all basically moved ahead on dat. how ethics is important for a business or in our day 2 day life for dat matter. people gave example of pfizer n more pharma company doing sum business in africa. pfizer lost on dat,whereas d other company earned a fortune, n dat was coz initially it was not worried abt d profit part n did business for d gud of people.but finally dat did pay bk.

as far as goin thru my life was concerned, just concentrated my academics, n den finally placement in chanakya n my present rank. cud not say nethin more dan dat(time limit, u know)

i told dem, dat i was 2 join glim last yr only with other 3 batchmates of mine,but hd 2 go on sailing coz of some family obligation n i needed money, so dis yr glim was d obvious option, n tis doin well on d placment front also (as i came 2 know fm my friends dere).

regarding baba ramdev's controversy, he asked "what u think about all d controversy goin on concerning ramdev?"
i told dem, dat "since it was a controversial issue,wont speak much on dis. if the medicines do not contain ne human part(non-veg, in crude language), den tis ok,par if it does, he shud get it mentioned on d packs n den d decision shud b left to d patient (consumer) to decide whether he wants 2 use such medicines for his ailments or not. btw, he shud in ne case let d public know d contents of d medicine,even if tis 100% aurvedic".

I Know that i am joining this group very late but hope to make up for the lost time soon.
Let me introduce myself first, My name is Manan Sharma n i m a Btech in computer science. Graduated in the year 2004 and was till recently employed with Convergys India Services, Gurgaon.

i sat for the first round of great lakes admissions and got through, i had other calls too, namely Narsee monjee and IRM Anand.
Decided to go for great lakes for so many reasons (will have the time to discuss them at large).

For all those who have been admitted to the program, here is a news i wud like to share:- the laptop prices are headed northwards post budget becoz the excise duty has been raised from 8% to 12%.

What are the GMAT SCORES (MIN or Avrage) WITH WHICH PEOPLE HAVE GOT INTO GREAT LAKES (Assuming that I prove to good on every other count like WORK EX, ACADS.GD/PI etc)
Guys I know this question man annoy most people since this the only question I Seem to asking everytime on this forum....
but the problem is I am not able to get even a single response on this ....
