Re: Great Lakes Institute of Management - 2006-07 Batch - 17-02-2006, 12:08 PM

satish,
please get the application form ASAP. the application itself will have two unfilled reco letters (it will actually have certain questions about you which will have to filled by the recomender ). the recomender can either courier it himself or seal it and give to you. in case the latter happens, you can submit it yourself with the filled application form.
all the 5 essays that you write should be given in print format and should be submitted with the application.
the admission is not on a first come first basis and is completely merit based. however you may face a lot of competition if you delay. this is so because a huge number of candidates are expected to apply in the forthcoming days.
once you submit the application it will be screend by the selection committe and if you qualify you will be called for interview.
if you want to attend interview on this saturday then you should have submitted your application form before the end of previous week (i.e by saturday).

Hi!!

AICTE approval will not affect the prospects of the students except for one case where in if the student wishes to do PhD in US. Other than that I dont see the lack of AICTE approval being a hindarance. Also, AICTE does not approve one year courses easily. The course is recognised by the industry.

All siad, the institute is also working towards getting the AICTE approval at the earliest.

The admissions is not on First Come First Serve Basis. INfact, a majority of seats are to be filled only in the second phase.

You can schedule the date for the admissions process as per your convenience. Pls note that only the date is as per your wish.

THe institute needs the Reco as specified in the form. You may also submit an additional reco if you want to. What i suggest is that you submit ur PM's reco as additional reco and try and get in the template given in the app form.

Generally SOP's are asked in order to learn the purpose of joining their institute and the motivations that are driving you the particular course....Make it crisp and sharp....right to the point......A 2 page SOP wud do gud...
As they've not prescribed any word limit in this case ..No such worries....

BTW Are U applyin thru CAT score or goin to write GET ???....

hi binu.

u can say that great lakes comes out with five lists.

list 1) gives the name of the candidates who hav their admissions confirmed.
list 2) this is the first waiting list.

list 3) second waiting list. this is what they call as hold+

list 4 ) third waiting list . tis is what they call as hold.

list 5) this is the 4th waiting list. this is what they call as hold-

i hope the above explains u werer u lie.

i have no idea when they will confirm u of ur admission.

Question Re: Great Lakes Institute of Management - 2006-07 Batch - 18-02-2006, 09:45 PM

seniors and those who got admitted to 2006-2007 batch .... please help me out ... I am in bad situation ..... after screwing up cat/xat..... I came to know that Great Lakes would accept only one of thr scores and that too has to be decided by candidate.....

So, guys I request you to throw some light on MINIMUM GMAT SCORE, I know this not the only criteria for selcecting a candidate but obviously a guy with 580 score cannot make to great lakes ....

So plese let me know the GMAT SCORE which I should get to make it to great lakes .... please reply at the earliest.

Thanks & Regards

Azeem
