Re: Great Lakes Institute of Management - 2006-07 Batch - 16-02-2006, 03:07 PM

S : what after 2010 ?
I : I don’t know and I feel nobody can estimate market demand over the long term.

S: what about mutual funds? Should I invest in them ?
I : its all depends on your interests. It something like buying a new car.
If you drive it urself then its like investing for urself.
If you appoint a driver its like investing in mutual funds.
A person with driving as passion wouldn’t prefer a driver and so I wouldn’t prefer Mutual funds. But they are safe as they are managed by professionals.

S: so what company do you want to get in to after MBA?
I am not very specific about the company. But I would prefer a budding company to start with.

P1 & P3 : why is that your interests have changed after college ?
I : people’s interests change as they get older.

P1 : you are just 23 years .. are you old.
I : no sir. I meant I am growing older as every year passes by and hence my interests also change.

P1: so you are sure about pursuing equity research?
Iam very sure about it and I don’t want to get in to any other field.

P1 & P3 : good.

And then they said all the best and asked if I had any questions. I asked about them and their relation to Great Lakes…..and then shook hands and left..

Though they asked many more questions I am not able to recollect every one of them. Guess this should give you people a good idea about the process.

Be yourself and say what you know very well. Never mind saying ‘I don’t know’ if you are not sure about the answer.

Was not very confident after the interview because I had mixed feelings. Was not sure how well it went.

Anyways I am happy that I got through.

A) It is advisable to write about a person whom you personally know.

For example : your project manager, your school teacher, your friend...etc.

B) Moral dilemma means having a dilemma over issues which are morally incorrect.

For example : you can have a moral dilemma during a situation where you will have to bribe someone.....maybe a government employee or a policeman...

I dont have an answer to this. Please write to admissions@glakes.org.

It is the management that decides on this issue.

Yes. The Reco letters and the Essays need to be submitted along with the app form.

The admissions is not on First Come First Serve Basis. INfact, a majority of seats are to be filled only in the second phase.

You can schedule the date for the admissions process as per your convenience. Pls note that only the date is as per your wish.

hi satish,
--> as far as reco letters & SOP s are concerned, yes.. u have to give it with the application.

--> whether the Admission wud be on a first cum first serve basis... well in any case u HAVE TO PERFORM to get thru' irrespective of 1st or 2nd phase... it doesnt make sense to analyse in which phase u have to perform more.

--> 'GET nxt week ' ... no idea... seniors help !!

All da best.
