Essay Topics

1. Please tell us how a management degree fits in with your personal goal for the future. (400 words)
2. Describe the major setbacks / disappointment in your life, preferably professional, and explain how you dealt with it.
(400 words)
3. Assume you are on the Admissions Panel of Great Lakes. Which of your qualities would compel you as panel member,
to offer yourself admission. (200 words)
4. Write a paragraph or two on any two of the following: (200 words)
a. Tell us about a person you have known and most admire and why.
b. Who is the most unreasonable person you have come across in your life and how did you tackle the person?
c. Your most remarkable achievement during your school / college years.
d. Describe one of the moral dilemmas that you have faced and how you overcame the situation?

Resume Format.

you don't have to carry your resume with you. i didn't carry one with me. But still if u wish to carry one with you u may do so, i dont think there is any specified format.

recommendations

there are some questions in the application form which the recommender will have to answere. i am mailing you my application form, you can find the details there.

I have my great lakes intv and Gd on the 11th.. this saturday!! can anyone give me inputs on how to go abt it..
some ppl were saying that ANYONE who applies t Grea lakes gets an intervoew call... is that true???? please reply asap

they called and informed me yesterday about my shortlisting

also I am fron Chennai.. don have work ex but here are my acads

CAT scores 97.5
Bcom 80%

12 th 90%

10 77%

have got many proficeincy prizes and very good extra curricular..

what else are thy looking for..
pl help

Hi friends,

I have seen that most of the people who have applied here through CAT have a percentile of 90 around. I have a percentile of 86.78(VA 97, QA 67, RA 3 so should I go for GET exam or CAT will do.
I am a working professional with 19 months workex till date in top IT MNC. consistent acads and good extra curriculars... recommendation letters from SPM and Unit Anchor.
Please let me know whether I should go for GET exam. And will they consider the best of CAT and GET or is it that once I appear for GET then GET score willl only be considered.

Please seniors....give me some suggestions

Hi Krishna

1. They consider the score which you will mention and that has to be either GET or CAT or GMAT.
2. About your CAT score i would suggest you to think abt the same from the perspective of whether you are in touch with books and can score better in GET. If yes, then give GET but if you think that you have lost hold of things and would be taking a risk than go ahead with CAT scores and try preparing really impressive essays, recos and GD/PI.

Hi OMG.

Most of the people applying to Great Laked do get a call, although i am not very sure if all get.

This is so because unline other B-schools at great lakes your overall profile is considered for the decision.

Your acads are good so u score over there. however u don't have any work ex. although work ex is not mandatory it is preferred. but i think u will be a tough competition for the other freshers applying ot this institute.

Be prepared for whatever you have put in the application form, right from acads to extra curriculars ...

Be confidant and show clarity in thought process ... this will be useful for questions like "Why MBA?"

And no spl pref for females
