Finally the glim representative speaks up... only after re-directing him from the other glim forum, he showed up on this topic...
But those stats [regarding avg scores]. is it the average for a small section of candidates or the entire list ??? 95%ile in CAT and 670 in GMAT... I'm quite sure you have not spoken with adcom.. For, the actual average is far too less..
I agree that '
Good Marks alone wont make good managers'. But i'm very sure that those with
very poor acads wont make good managers either.
And again you have successfully parried all the concerns about '
powerful' recommendations, which was instrumental in a vast majority of students getting admit into glim. Did this question miss you [twice], or is it that answering this question would put you in a tight spot. And no mention abt the Mar10th interview either.. Kudos..

agree that postponement of dates are not the most comfortable of things to happen, but just lyk to mention that the first postponement was declared much before the deadline... the second postponement was done due to some of the repeated requests of candidates all over.

Two points to this quote.
1) Not many would have thought or even bothered to check whether there had been a '
change of deadline' in your portal. [I just happened to notice it be chance. That too, just 10 days before you changed it for the second time]. Thats because, reputed b-schools don't change their application deadlines often. So, changing the date much before the deadline doesn't make much difference. Most of the candidates would have nevertheless been through completing the appln. Only the really lazy dudes cud have defaulted.
2) Regarding the confusion wrt the 2nd deadline. My god... U r really getting good at this.. I mean giving alternate facts [in other words, '
excuses'] Repeated Requests of Some students ???? So, had the students requested you to change the deadlines to May or June, would you have acceded to that request too ??? Get credible... Admit it.. You postponed the deadline for a second time, in order to sell off more applications. Never have I heard of such an unprecedented incident [both India and abroad], where a b-school changes its deadlines to accommodate a set of candidates [remember.. u have gone on record to state that]. This belittles the authority of the institution.
Had you stood by the prestige and Reputation of your institution, you would not even have considered postponement of any of your deadlines.
Now, with regards to the '
Rethink' idea. I'm glad I didn't make it in glim this year. I'm not saying this because I couldn't get into glim, this year. But after knowing wat's happening inside the institute, the unnecessary hype created and the non-transparent admission system [where one cant even get a feedback on his performance-they really didn't care about the candidates]. What more, even some of your alumni/future alumnus share the same feelings as mine. I would definitely not like to be in the position you currently are in now, a year down the lane. And for that, Thanks !!
The Truth is out there !!!!!!!!!
