It's bigger than ever before with a host of events packed in 3 action filled days. The rush has already begun with the first event of Manfest 2006, Karvy Go-trade kicking off in great fashion.

Karvy Go-trade is an online stock trading game which saw a registration of 210 teams. This translates into an investment of Rs 1.25 crores in the Indian stock market starting Nov. 28th. Each team has to pay Rs 10,000 for which they'll get an initial exposure of Rs 60,000. The first prize is Rs 100,000. But it doesn’t end there. There are other attractive prizes to be won on a weekly basis with profit sharing at the end of 8 weeks of action packed trading weeks.

This year Manfest celebrates “India”. With Indian industry having truly arrived on the global scene, with Indian sportsperson winning accolades around the world and with India becoming synonymous with growth and energy, this Manfest lets celebrate the force India is becoming and salute the idea called India.

Manfest 2006 packs in action and panache with a multitude of events lined up during 20-22 January, 2006.

The Biz Theatre takes the center stage at Manfest. The special interest groups offer an array of innovative and challenging management games in all functional areas of management. It symbolizes the culmination of brilliant ideas, perseverance to implement them and presence of mind with nerves of steel.

Some of the eminent personalities who graced the occasion last year are Mr. Arun Maira, chairman, BCG India, Mr. Chandan Mitra, editor, Pioneer India and Dr. Vishwanath Baba, Professor and former Dean of DeGroote School of Business.

Arcade d’ Offbeat Management is a unique opportunity to learn from renowed practitioners in the industry. With perspectives ranging from the Supply Chain Management of Dabbawallahs to a captain’s strategy on the field by Mr. Kapil Dev, the Aracade d’ Offbeat Management will enrich and enlighten you as never before.

Quiz zone The quiz zone pits the best brains from across the country in an intriguing battle of knowledge and wits. Apart from Catechism, the Business quiz and Brainwave, the general Quiz, the online quiz is sure to keep everyone captivated for the times to come.

Pro Nite At IIM Lucknow “we work hard and party harder”. This spirit is epitomized by the Pro Nites which play host to some of the best and the hottest bands in the arena. With Pakistani rock band Strings crossing borders last year, this year stage is set for something even bigger.

Informals provide a break from the strenuous business activities, if you can call it a break. With a gamut of fun filled activities like pictionary, dumb charades and antakshari lined up for grabs, who has the time to relax!

Hey Rohit,
is there anything in manfest for those who are outside mba institutes? prolly in the industry or students?

According to me, everything that has been said till now is of utmost importance. But we must not forget that there are other factors which come into play too...so we must take them into account and continue the speculation... hehehehehehehe

For Karvy Go Trade we have over 200 registrations with each team getting an exposure of Rs 60,000. So that makes it around Rs 1.2 crore event which is sure Huge. As the game is real time and teams are still paying up, we'll have a better idea when the process moves into the next stage. But all of us here do feel that we might be on the way to break a few records here

Apart from this just have a look at the luminaries who have graced Manfest in the past:

Mr. Kapil Dev
Mr. Arun Maira
Mr. Pradeep Baijal
Mr. jug Suraiya
Capt. Gopinath
Mr. Dilip Chabria
Mr. Chandan Mitra
Mr. Muzzafa Ali

and the list is endless. It can be easily seen that each eminent personality is a frontrunner in his industry. So if thirst for real business knowledge from the leaders in the industry is what excites you, Manfest is the event for you !

adios

hi guys!

Plagiarism is the flavour of the season.
FMS Fiesta quiz did it. Now its Manfest's turn to outdo them.. Good going guys!!!

For ppl who are still clueless, IIML manfest's Ops OBT Prelims all the questions were "lifted" from McGraw-Hill website's Multiple Choice Questions.

There is a limit guys...
These were questions from Operations Management for Competetive Advantage by Chase , Jacobs, and Acquilano. And all of them were available online.

I don't think Googling is unethical as everyone does it.
A simple googling would have got anyone any question...and we did the same..

We confirmed that mails from 4 teams here were recd very very early...

Y dint any team from here qualify??? what say guys?Just to let u guys know that we had qualified for the first two days for OBT.
