Just to accentuate snan's point , students make it a point here to be in the class 5 mins b4 schedule *because the profs are in the class 5 mins b4 time*...the punctuality and effort put in is simply amazing....profs goofing up beegtime b4 students @ engg colleges...forget it dude...this is IIM A...the prof has alrdy put in a 100 times than a student will ever do ...for some of the profs here all the *other* top b-schools of the world will give hands and legs...but they prefer teaching here so the standards are quite high...

and abt the bed of roses i better not elaborate ...

hmm i will post abt my encountrs with iima later, but just that it very very different from what i had imagined. this place rocks ... hmm ... yeah i guess i can say so. but thn i am alarminly being forced into insomnia !!

Another week has passed...and im slowly starting to like this place !!! ......nothing fabulous happened thro other thn the intra dorm cricket (played from 1-4)..well its A..M and not P.M .........
in between had a plant tour as part of operations course...to implement process analysis in real life !!!(welll thts the purported aim ...)...the batch was divided into 7-8 groups and each group went to various companies like amul/aravind/stovec/hitachi etc etc to study different processes...my grp went to a job shop.....nothing new for me out of the whole tour.....reminded me of L&T and suddenly realised how much i miss bombay!!!:(....but the enthu of the junta and esp. the proffs was unbelievable.....a nice break frm pure theoretical studies...and a chance to "dejargonise".....in btwn though there were people who asked a material handling kid on shopfloor about bottleneck and work in progress !!!....(the guy gave a smile.....thumbs up to his perseverance !!

I have taken a big "strategic" decision !!!!...i have increased my sleeping time by 2 hours....so its back to the bombay timings of 6 hours of sound sleep for me !!!..it dawned on me that my grades cudnt get any worse if i sleep for 2 more hours....and its only as bad as it was before so all in all its net profit for me !!!

yet another week down..many many more to go !!!!!....

here comes another week of surprise quizzes(we had one today), assignments, presentations and the late night dorm meetings.

it is fun and it is a kinf of experience whihc is for lifetime.

people study till 4-5 in the morning for the day's classes but could not control themselves from SLeeping in the class.

the moment you reach mess for the lunch the seniors (they are the luckiest creature in the world, and all of the first year students have started dreaming about our second year)and a short quiz notice welcomes you.

the profs are really good.

this year one more thing has been added to the IIM A
it is :CT(CAFE TAANSTAAFL)----the 24 hour cafe for all the PGPs who either dont like to sleep or can't sleep due to workload .
The name of the cafe means "there aint any such thing as a free lunch"
