Interesting thread...

I did a course from EDI (Entreprenuerhsip Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad)..

I don;t know if it qualifies as a B-School...
As it offers one year post graduation in entreprenuership..
Anyways, being at the liberty to judge it as a B-School ....

Well coming to fun part of it....
We used to joke that EDI was a "Paid Vacation"

It was if you, consider the midnight holis or the midnight table tennis sessions...
The multimedia projector (in the class) was regularly used to see movies...
The monthly movie picnics...
The students there mastered every game from NFS to Cricket...
And when we even had a gym to our disposal...

Watching movies at any time of the day / night was a routine for everybody...

And yes ofcourse the best "extra-ciricullar activity" was to in class...

After reading that anybody would say "kya life hai yaar"...
There's more but let's see if anybody can that...

Good question, and you can get the best answer by browsing through some of these blogs which will walk u thru the campus and life @ IIMK

http://himalayanwind.blogdrive.com/

http://pranayrao.blogspot.com/2005/0...aped-from.html

http://girlwithbigeyes.blogspot.com/...m-at-iimk.html

More to say, Life @ IIMK is a perfect balance between acads and fun. You can grab enuf time for urself from the otherwise hectic schedule of a Bschool and enjoy the beauty of Kerala.

People here are high on spirits and fun, not to say they excel at acads too.

Hope this will add one to ur list of "Bschools thats got BEST student life"

The thread i feel is a bit undefined...what exactly do you mean by a BEST student life... the definition varies for all. For some its a lot of studies with a bit of entertaiment here and there. For others studies are what you should do in your free time. Most good B Schools require atleast 75% attendance (some IIMs require 100% i believe). But thn even classes can be fun if you get a good faculty.

Infact it aint the classes that will take most of your time. Its the peer pressure and grading system that makes life easy or tough. Classes @ B schools usually end by noon. After that its your own time. Movies from the server, games on the lan, bday parties, IP wars(IP-thats the local lan messenger for the uninitiated), booze parties for scoring low marks, booze parties for scoring high marks, going out to watch the latest flick or just plain gossiping about who went out with whom are i guess common across the board. What makes life fun is simply your friends, how well you jell with others in class (and one does need a lot of peer interaction). being in a city might help but then only if you got a good peer group.

anyways i think its a good thread to know more about life outside studies in other B schools. Here are a few blogs from NITIE on life here...

I'll agree with the post above. It's really hard to define what would be the best B-School life... you should go through some of the threads that are devoted to life at different B-Schools.

My suggestion to you would be to focus on getting into the best B-School possible... a good life would follow automatically. Things like attendance hardly matter, since classes get over by lunchtime most of the time (as mentioned in the above post)

In all the top B-Schools, you ll find great company and believe me, thats pretty much what defines the kind of life you will have there.. the environment in all B-Schools is very progressive and people have a huge apetite for fun... even at the hard taskmaster schools like IIM A... so my suggestion is that don't bother about the B-School life... once you are there, you are bound to have fun.

Cheers,

yup.. well said..

wud like to add one more thing... whether at a Bschool.. or at your work place.. the most important thing is gonna be your ability to manage time.. and prioritize..

if you r able to get the better of ur chores.. u will tend to like a place/ life.. else u will find it disgusting ( thats what happens generally during the first sem of most bschools coz their is just too much to do in a days time.. but then you learn ) !..

well my internal time manager tells me that the priority at present is to go sleep ! rather than give bull on pg so ciao ..
