This has been due for quite some time now and I am sure it will get the other IIMB puys into sharing their experiences as well .....
Week 1 : Senior-Junior Interaction + Fun/Talks
Week 2 : Classes start + Aarambh 2008
Week 3 : Classes + Club selections + inter block events
Week 4 : Classes + Quizzes + inter section events
Four weeks have really gone by very fast and time seems to be very limited . While a lot of the junta have actively taken up mugging , the others seem clueless (Read : Me) . I realised what the meaning of RG was when after scoring 10/15 in a quant quiz I realised I was in the bottom 20% (Shit Happens ) . Have done a lot of things for the 1st time in my life out here like
1. Choreographed dancing on stage in Aarambh (havent been applauded more for such nautanki)
2. Lawn Tennis ( Generally at an obscene hr in the night alongwith JLT and social_loafer )
3. Attending classes ( 6 bunks in approx 35 lectures . Section mates find this very high )
In comparison to the engineering experience the infrastructure seems lacking but then I guess its not a fair comparison . Seniors have been very helpful with all the gyaan required . Staying awake in the class has become a real challenge thanks to the average 6 am sleeping time that I am following (last two days have been exceptions) and also thanks to subjects like Managing Organizations and Managerial Communication (A grade fart). Mess food is edible . L square parties happen frequently and I have found a group of people like me who love to sing their lungs out . Mantri reporting from IIMB -
Samhar the IIMB - IIMC Sports Meet began today
Day 1 :
Throwball (Girls) - IIMB won 2-0
Volleyball - IIMB won 3-1
Highlights:
Amritanshu(IIMC) who was smashing from centre court was a treat to watch . Sadly he wasnt supported much by his team . Some heated moments with C threatening to walkout
IIMB still hasnt gotten a taste of the (in)famous IIMC girl's hooting. Let's see if Day 2 and 3 are as good as 1
Cheers to B and C "Of all the offspring of Time, Error is the most ancient, and is so old and familiar an acquaintance, that Truth, when discovered, comes upon most of us like an intruder, and meets the intruder's welcome." | | | | | The Following 8 Users Say Thank You to Mantri For This Useful Post:

Score of Samhar at the end of Day 2 : 8-1 in favour of IIMB
IIMC managed to win the Girl's Badminton losing everything else .
Cricket and football were the only games to see some competition while others were just a formality . Girl's TT ended in 15 mins
IIMB needs only one more win to retain the Samhar trophy . Samhar 2008 (IIMB-IIMC), anual sports meet is again won by IIMB with a final scoreline of 15-2.
IIMC managed to only win a closely fought Woman's Badminton event and Men's Snooker event.
With this kind of scoreline, we are contemplating inviting IIMC's team in Inter Hostel Block team events at IIM-B, in order to train them, so that we can have fiercely competitive matches during sports meet with them.
IIM-K junta, prepare hard or rather start praying from now on, so that you guys can at least better the scoreline as compared to C. | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to social_loafer For This Useful Post:

Well, the leader of the bunk-o-meter is here to mark his ‘present’! It’s been almost two months here @ B and I thought I better put up something on this thread!!! No no, it’s not been that busy as they make it sound…it’s just pure sloth! Anyway , I better get going… Well, orientation week, outbound exercises, resume submissions, lectures, assignments, quizzes, tests, mid-terms, cultural events, club selections, online competitions, inter-section contests, sports meet with IIMC (15-2 ) and blah blah…all of this has been happening around here and I’ve seen it all pass me by… But there have been good parts and bad parts just like any other experience…here’s how I see it – The good part: the green verdant campus, unbelievable weather of Bangalore that ensures no body can tell if you don’t bathe even for a week , the kool profs whom I listen to in class and the amazing world of DC++ The bad part: the wine shop right in front of our gate shut down! (wtf) , McD doesn’t deliver here and getting up at 8 three days a week (though I’ve already had 16 bunks and leading the bunk-o-meter from the start ) hvnt seen so many hindi movies in a month as i did here...hv just lazed thru days watching nine seasons of Seinfeld...and now I'm on to Byomkesh Bakshi... so far so good I say...
