If you wish to survive, what MICAns call "Mathew Movies" you do need a quick doze of not just 'Kyon..ki' but also Garam Masala...anything to lighten up.

Mathew Movies are somethign only MICAns are blessed with. World renowned movies. with socio-political-economic backdrop...

And Nniky, Sankalp is no competition...except within, to excel. Sankalp is MICA's theatre group that offers a good play to the juntah of Ahmedabad each year on a highly profeassional level. It's a fantastic exercise in event management and team work. And a damn good theatre experience!

This year it's gonna be 'Suraj ka...' Am I supposed to make it public yet, guyz???

I wanted to know abt the profile of the companies which visit mica...r they advertising companies??..do companies come for marketing too??..kindly clarify

The Designer World...

Guess what?? We had Michael Foley, Chief Designer, Titan on campus for a day and a half sharing the Design Process, Future Design and Design Sensibilities...that was only for the Design Management Students :-)

And also a Mexican Designer - who talked to us about Design Management and the world view.

To top it all, we all went to Vishala, a Village Restaurant for dinner and had a blast. The designer inputs on how 13 people of various shapes and sizes can fit in two cars were quite useful....

just wanted to confirm if the website list of cos. is precise enuff....have becum a bit edgy regarding these lists especially after the stuff we"v been getting from the ********** guys....my centre manager is a mican n she told me tht plcmnts durin her time wern"t tht gr8...it was mostly ad agenicies tht came to recruit n the starts in terms of paypackets was really low....but things seem to hav changed now, cos thats wat mr. pillai, the admssn incharge, had to say in a seminar which i attended...just thought that a present student mite be in a better position to throw more lite on d subject....n can u also gimme a brief idea on the approximate percentiles necessary in cat...my centre mgr told me tht its above 96 but again mr. pillai said that its around 88...m really confused bout it...n just 1 last query regarding the essay type ques in the appln form...thrs this ques on whr do i c myself workin aftr 5 yrs n in wat designation...the type of work i plan to mention is brand mgt. but dont really know bout the designation to mention..i thought of saying brand manager but am not sure if tht is a little far fetched within 5 yrs...also regardin the xtra curriculars we"re allowed to mention only3 n i hve more than that...narrowed it to five choices...wud b thankful if u cud help me dcide the final 3...they r...1st in intr coll dramatics(team event-2002), 1st in inter coll biz quiz(2005-team of 2), hostel head boy n skool house captain(2001- dont hav certs to support this..can show a copy of skool mag though), 3rd in all india essay comp(1999), particpation in all india debate(1999)..i wnted to mention d 1st three but then guess mica looks for creativity n communication skills n the last two bring them out more efficiently...wil be really thnkful if u cud help...

Movies by Mathew are something that all Micans no matter where can relate to. The fact that we are given the opportunity to view world cinema that talks about relevant issues of today and also the past makes one stop to think and ponder. Therefore, Mica is not only about IMC, it is also about viewing the world from a different eye, after having learnt what has not been told to the world...

And when you have a sociologist and an economist under the same roof, battling out with opposing ideologies, that does make for one cool weekend doesnt it? Well that was what we had this weekend with our economics prof P. Panda)and the culture communications prof (P. Mathew) locking horns at the inauguration debate of the debating society at Mica: Crosstalk! Makes for one hell of an entertaining weekend:P

No pagal...lets not disclose what we are going to be doing this year at Sankalp. For anyone curious enough to watch Micans make history again this year, come to Ahmedabad in December!!
