AICTE per-se is not necessary for deemed universities or those recognized as a university under UGC. Thus it is not necessary for ICFAI to apply for AICTE approval.

Institutes like Indian School of Business also don't go for AICTE approval so that the course curriculum can remain flexible.

To my knowledge I dont think AICTE per-se has any impact in the long run, its only your quality output at work that really matters to a company.

If I am not mistaken the court ruling is for the ICFAI National College and not the ICFAI Business Schools.

hi
i am currently doing my MBA at IBS kolkata. As far as i know in terms of placements both mumbai and gurgaon stand on the same plane . its up to u to decide. be it mumbai or gurgaon, if u work hard u ll do well, its as simple as tht. the course requires a lot of hard work and it would get the best out of u.
all the best

hi
i am currently pursuin my MBA with IBS k. the faculty members are quite nice. i cannot call the infrastucture amazing. but it provides for all the requirements of a b school. IBS k had been offered the highest pay package among all other IBS centers of abt 11lacs. the average salary too is around 3.5-3.8 i am having a good time here. the course requires a lot of hard work and commitment. i am enjoying every moment at IBS k.
all the best

[quote=kunduanirban]Hi friends,

Started my journey through the MBA course at ICFAI Business School Kolkata last Monday. My initial feeling as of now is that I am already dumbstruck by the amount of work thrust on us. Have already been through one English language test, one impromptu presentation and several preparatory (revision) classes on Maths & Accounts.
Ok, I'll try to write it one by one chronologically.

Day 1: June 2

There was to be a welcome party and registration for Term 1. Arrived at IBS at 9.30 sharp to find hoards of anxious looking students and parents (yes, they were also invited) waiting for the show to begin. After the registration, the HR Manager of BOC India and the Asst Vice president of ABN AMRO Bank, 2 leading recruiters of IBS Kolkata stated what they expected from a prospective employee. The Dean then introduced the faculty members,who adviced us on how to go about the course. The meeting was followed by refreshments. And oh, yes, we were given the Term 1 Study Mats, huge fat books, all total 16 in number.
