needed some info from ur end...have applied for GMBA and should be getting a call..

have applied for IB as super specialization...
now 2 queries-
a) since finance and IT both have their final semester in singapore, how will be the placemeents there..coz from what i know in singapore market, its very difficult to get hold of a job unless u have a solid work-ex of 4-5 years...so the ROI is a big question mark in this case..
b) have applied for IB considering the fact that the mba's in dubai and singapore-hot markets for IB..the main reason for not applying for IT(me a s/w engg.. with 1.6 years work-ex) was the absence of any passout batch from the insti yet...so no ideas about the placement scenario et al.
from the above posts, it seems IB and WM applicants both undergo a lot of grilling..how feasible an idea will it be to switch now from IB to say IT..(provided my 2nd query is well answered)..
I would be lying if i say that i can justify my decision of taking IB in the interview..have worked in the financial domain (stock market appln) but thats more to do with the data than the financial aspect...and am not sure how much u can grab from the net and still potray a presentable sight in front of the panel..

any pointers seniors/pals??

Sorry guys I am joining this thread so late, but better late than never.
Now some serious stuff went to Spjcm's office today to know about my admission mail which was not opening due to virus problems
And I asked them by showing my documents what was it all about the lady confirmed that it was my mail for informing that I am in waitlist (no.16....list goes to 25) gave me printout too for the same
Further told me in first round around 75 have confirmed admission
125 offer letters + 25 waitlist letters dispatched this time ( 21-22 jan interview)
And for chaps who haven't recieved their mails sorry guys you are rejected...simple,hard fact
IB,WM and IT are almost full around 35-40 in each are expected done with 25-27 done till date
Also said that from tomorrow they'll start taking queries on phones to confirm the rejections and will send mail till 31,1st
So congratulations to all who made it,luck to waitlist ones and hard luck to all rejected ones

Just to answer to ur 1st query ...actually i had askd this ques to the interviewer in mumbai that will the IT guys get companies only from singapore for placements and he replied that this was not the case software companies in Dubai would also participate and if selected for interview the selected guys will be flown to Dubai for placements. Regd placements in IT sector, its true that this yr the first batch will be passing out so how the placements go and how much salary do they draw will be clear only around mid or end of feb. However they were pretty confident that all of the guys (IT) would get an intenship offer from some company until the person totally screws up his CGPA.
Regarding switching the specializations i don't think they'll agree to this until u convince the mgmt. coz my offer letter said that chnage would not be entertained at any cost. Please refer to my previous mail.

guys (21st and 22nd jan interview people), have any of you got admission letters from SPJCM. Have they dispatched the letter only for IT guys or have they dispatched it for the other specialisations also?

hey people ...first time I am posting to this chain.
I have been trying to fill in the online application for the global MBA provided by SPJAIN but I am unable to save my academic details or Academic and Professional Achievements in the Other Information tab.
If I try saving the pages without any information it allows me to do that but as soon as I fill in the data and save it, I get HTTP 500 internal server error
I have also mailed the people at SPJAIN ....please advice

@MBA2400 I called the mumbai office today and they said there's no such thing. I don't know why some ppl like u create rumours like this and disturb other aspirants.
You should mind posting on this thread in future without any true valuable point otherwise moderator is there to look after you.
Even for a moment if I believe you that what you have said is true, Can u substantiate it with giving the name of concerned person in Spj Mumbai office.
If you can others will surely benefit from it or otherwise just one advice for you

Hi Friends,

Ultimately I got my final call today but strange enough I havent received any email I got a letter from them. I have applied for IB.

But friends now I am in dilemma whether to join it or not.

Regarding the submission of form even few of my friends are also facing similar problem while submitting the form, better you mail them across the hard copy or keep in touch with them and inform them about this issue.

I'm still convinced that not all the results are out and SPJain will honor its word and declare the results by 31st Jan for people that attended GD/GI on 21st/22nd Jan. Lets not get disturbed or plan our career moves based on what someone says on the forums. Lets wait for the official response.

The simple fact is that if you are good and if you think that your interview went well... there is every reason to believe that you are IN.

Forgot to add one more thing - Please keep checking your spam folders as well incase you are using free email like yahoo. Most of the email correspondence that I receive from SPJ goes to spam folder. The best way to reduce such incidents is by adding all the known spjain email-ids to your email address books.
