Hi!
I am a S/W enginner working for a MNC in Bangalore (3+yrs work ex).
I am writing CAT this time and also taking GMAT on 20th june.
I have a question regarding application to US B-schools (for Fall 2006).
Is applying before the round1 deadline (oct-nov) really important? In other words, does an applicant (intl applicant in particular) hv a better chance of getting in if the application is complete before the round 1 deadline?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

By applying in oct-nov you are giving yourself the greatest chance of getting into a b-school as none of the seats are occupied. After the first round a majority of the seats are occupied and unless you have outstanding academics, an outstanding GMAT Score and stellar extra-curriculars you don't have a chance... take your pick...

Hello people,
As decided I started studying this saturday... took my second mock test ever and studied math after about 8 years... (some achievement)
Score was pretty poor, 410 on the Kaplan but that was totally impromptu and still better than the test I had taken a month back, it was the IMS GMAT (CAT) i score a poor 300 there...
But i still found the math pretty simple... Yes english is very dicy but I guess once I know what the basic principle of taking the verbal is i should do well.
The biggest problem I am facing is exhaustion. I get exhausted giving the test and start feeling bored... Any good suggestions on that??? It is the biggest hinderance I am facing as far as giving the GMAT is concerned...
looking forward to hearing from you guys/gals
Cheers!!!

Submit your app, ONLY when you are happy that you've done a good job on them. No point in hustling them for any specific round. That said, R1s and R2s and pretty doable and manageable as well. R3s - don't bank on them.
