I am myself going to cardiff business school this yr as u wud hav seen from my previous posts,
Abt ur friend I think its subjective, bcas if your friend has 3yrs work ex then he can get into oxford, LBS,lancaster, etc.
But if he is a fresher then cardiff is a very good university, pls remember to tell him not to take UWIC but cardiff business school.
Abt the credentials of the school, its a very good school, ranked among the best in UK, but one deterrent maybe the cost of study as it is to the other schools,
Also let ur friend know that like in india there are no capus placements but job fairs where u hav to post ur cv and stuff, but the univ will hav a placement officer who will guide u and get u the best recruters, but the bulk of the work is to be done by u, and also there is a chance he might come back w/o a placement, but be rest assured u will get a good job when u come back,
If u need any more info esp on cardiff business school let me know...
cheers,
vinod.

Hey Pankaj and vinod..
thanks for the infos... np with the gender confusion. We are so used to it with our US clients. They have so much confusion with Indian names (just as we have with their names at times), that they usually now ask in the conference calls and practice our names over n over again
vinod.. I will also be applyig for the visa in July. And do you also know of any good plans on the air tickets to UK? I had made an initial mistake of applying it early in May (since I did not know the rules). but for the sake of other people who do not know, we cannot apply for a visa more than 3 months in advance of when you plan to travel. So take care!
Pankaj, SBS has 4 rounds of application and all the dates will be mentioned on the school's webiste for each year's session. There are not a mentioned number of seats for the program, but each year they are increasing the intake. They are planning to increase the intake to 200 as compared to 174 last year! The school does not have any Indian head office or anything. But if you want some extra info about Oxford univ or Cambridge univ in genaral, you could try contacting the Oxford and Cambrdge Society of India in New Delhi (their site is : http://www.oxbridgeindia.com)
Pankaj, could you also pass on some more info on the STIC card - any website where I can get info on it?
Cheers!
Smisha

Well i hav already blocked a tkt for BOM-LON(heathrow) route on Air-India, i think the cost comes to arnd 27K for a Round trip, I hav done my booking for the 21st sept as my course induction starts from that day, and guess what we hav a free coach service from our univ, taking us right up to the hostel room from LON-heathrow, so booked for it too.
But my dad has adviced me too BLOCK my tkt on another airline other than AI ,as you never know abt Air-India, so most probably looking at JET AIRWAYS, i think the cost is arnd 29k for a round trip,
As far as other airlines are concerned i think they are higher than these too, according to what i came to know, if any of you come to know of a better cheaper airlines pls post it on this thread..
BTW i think by june end if possible we all shud meet once, we can share our doubts and be sure that we atleast know someone in UK before we go there.
Maddevil,
Hey the pleasure is mine man, abt giving GMAT it depends on which college he applies, but i can say for cardiff the requirement is a good first class degree,
a good SOP, if possible some part time or full time work EX, there is NO NEED FOR GMAT, also if u go for the interview which is held regularly at EDWISE by a senior tutuor named Don Barry, u may not hav to give even IELTS,
so if ur friend is in mumbai ask him to contact Edwise main branch, their services are free and tell him to hurry as DON is expected to come on 12th of next month.
cheers,
vinod.
