Thanks Bosvin.
My focus last year was to avoid being out of work for 2 years.
So I had applied to Oxford, Cambridge, NUS , Nanyang and INSEAD.
Got the admit only in Oxford.
My biggest mistakes were:
- not so forceful essays - due to lack of focus (except Oxford for which I worked for weeks and produced a thought-provoking one)
- timing of the applications - I applied to Oxford in Round 1 and all others on Round 2 and Round 3.
My profile:
GMAT : 770 (taken on Aug 07)
Experience: IT - 5.5 years
Would be focus: Technology management , General Management
This year I have decided to go for a 2 year MBA - because I feel I need some time to experiment and find my true calling. The basis on which I am going to select the schools is to see from their student profile on the percentage from engineering and from their campus placements on the percentage opting strategy/tech consulting and technology mgmt domains.
That way if you see, my choice of schools last year were a bit skewed. Maybe I should focus on schools like the 'Best in IT' ones that are listed by Financial Times - the likes of Tepper, Haas, Sloan, IE, Stanford, etc).
If any of you have the same kind of requirements or profile, please let me know.
Or if there are any threads specifically for IT to MBA people, please do let me know too.
Or we shall start one.
