I think that if you are a career changer wanting to get into consulting post MBA then the US school are better. However, I am also concerned about the US recession and the H1 visa situation. I also am sure that I want to be in Asia atleast in the medium term so in the NUS Mba will be better than the US schools. I guess in the end of the day it is all about what factors matter more to you so all the best with whatever you decide. |
true - at end of day it will matter who you are and not where you have done MBA from?
I just spoke to one of the seniors and he told me that consulting companies generally do not come for internships to NUS... however, some of them in earlier batches have been successful in getting Mckinsey earlier... so that shld be a ray of hope..
but if u read my earlier posts i have maintained that consulting jobs will require local knwldge and hence to get in consulting will be difficult... you may want to take up a job in region and get acquainted and then change job may be couple of years down the line...
regarding ur query on visas and universities sending students back home - let me tell you that singapore is very very immigrant friendly country... once u get a job, Govt invites you to apply for
PR (Permanent Residentship - which is equal to citizenship except u dont get to vote)... i have a cousin (Non MBA) wrking in Singapore and he has already got
PR for himself and his family... so i believe that its gonna be quite easy to be in Singapore post NUS MBA
