yeah it is common practice. The thing is that you can meet alumnus in his office or home also but it is not preferred by most people. Now if you have to arrange a small get together, sitting for a coffee is appropriate and cheap option.

I just had my alumni interview. It went pretty well. The interviewer was extremely down to earth and made me feel very comfortable. It lasted for 45-50 minutes. All the standard questions were asked - resume walkthru, post-mba goals, why ross etc.

the long wait starts...will Ross be releasing admits on 15th Jan only or they'll start sending it early.
With a month from submission, i've almost lost my hope for a intv call now. Hoping to get lucky with some another application

Nishant23, They will send invites until the end of Nov 2009. You will get an invite and so will many others including moi :-)

yeah, i got this feedback from Adcom that calls will be sent till mid December and early calls do not reflect any preference for candidate. So don't loose hope.

Hi soulinluv,

Yeah the long wait starts. The interviewer had about 10 years of experience before she applied. She was in IT and moved to finance post MBA.

No there was not change in status. It still showed as submitted.
