HI,
I am planning to apply at Nanyang for general MBA.
What kind of jobs does one land into after pursuing this course.
Any leads/directions on this front will be really really helpful.

Hi Chirag,
I have started the application process and saw that candidates from India are asked to submit CAT score (if they have one) in addition to GMAT.

Being in the international top ranking list, this is somewhat unexpected. Does Nanyang give special preference in terms of admission to Indian candidates with CAT score?
I only have GMAT score - does that reduce my chances of getting admitted?
Can you please thorw some light on this?
Thanks,
Pinaki.

Essay Questions:
(1) What is the one thing in your professional life so far, that matters most to you? Explain why. (maximum 500 words)
(2) Immediately after graduation, in what role do you see yourself working? Why? How will your experiences help you achieve this goal? What skills or competencies would you like to obtain from The NANYANG MBA to help you achieve this goal? (maximum 600 words)
(3) Describe a time when you made a lasting impact on your organization or when you built/developed a team whose performance exceeded expectations. Tell us what you did and how you did it. Only describe experiences that have occurred during the last three years. (maximum 300 words)
(4) Describe one problem in your current industry (or target industry after finishing your MBA) on which you hope to make a positive impact. Explain why this problem is meaningful to you and how will you promote efforts toward solving it. (maximum 600 words)

Let's pool some ideas.

Regards
Rohit

Hey Passpal,

An applicant's CAT score is just an add-on to the entire application and does not give any Indian Applicant a significant advantage over someone who does not have a CAT score to report.

I personally did not have a CAT score to submit and frankly I dont think the absence of a CAT score hampered my chances one bit. So please go ahead and apply with full faith in your application and GMAT score.

Cheers
Chirag

Hi Muddassir,

Rather than asking what jobs one lands up with after a general MBA, its better if you can ask yourself what you want to do post a general MBA. There are all kinds of job available provided you know what you want and are willing to work hard towards it.

Still to give you an idea some job profiles on offer are business analyst, marketing research analyst, business development, marketing operations, operations manager, finance manager. Mind you these are very generic job profiles and each will require some looking into depending upon the company and the industry the job belongs to.

Cheers
Chirag

Chirag,
How's the placement scenario this year at Nanyang?
Also, are there a lot of Indians in your batch?

On my way to Bangalore
