@rishi - Wallflowers were one of my fav bands - try Pink Floyd, Listening to it still gives me the chills...

Another point that came out of the XLRI GMP Pune Alum meet that stuck with me and I thought I will share. Never forget who you are. It is you who make the difference, much more than what school you go to. Believe.

Yeah. Absolutely, and I think that is what needs to be displayed on the day of the interview. Just your best out there. If that is the endeavor, I guess the outcome is not going to bother you much.

Pink Floyd - ah! you said it...that's been an all-time favorite for me...have lost count on the number of times I have tripped on it...if you know what i mean...

I didn't know it was by the wallflowers till I heard the soundtrack in the movie...just seemed apt for our situation...

Thank you for all the followup Sanjeev, I guess this ends our this year journey for GMP.

About your suggestion about writing mail for next year application is it a word from Adcom ? and secondly what mail id to write to adcom I have wrote to admis@xlri.ac.in , webmaster@xlri.ac.in, xlwebmaster@xlri.ac.in. Did not get any response for any of them.

(1) VCON cannot happen, as it was very clear before even applying that candidates have choices only in India.
(2) It will take large amount of time in coordinating with all the students and professsors, since professors have already left for interviews.

Things which you could do now:-
(1) Write an individual application letter (mail) to Admission citing your reason for which you cannot come.
Based on your genuine reason, you might be considered for next year without the entire application process.

Hey Mate,

Don't lose heart !! One last thing you can do is to call XLRI and present your case through oral communication, it may help individually.

Admission director probably could do after seeing your sincerity and motivation towards the GMP course and accept it as genuine.

I am not from XLRI, but as a fellow aspirant I am suggesting it to you,I would have done the same.

Hope for the Best!

Hey Puys...

I am an aspirant for GMP-XLRI 2010 batch. I didn't get my interview letter on time and hence could not fill the questionaire. Does this impact my interview/my chance of converting the call.

Please advice. also can someone help me with the questions asked so that i can prepare a little for them before my interview.

-in distress now...

When is your interview? If you still have time, you can call the Adcom, explaining your situation. They might send you an offline document to fill up the questionnaire.

I had actually missed the deadline by a day and I called them. They sent me a word document which I filled and mailed them back.

Does this impact - The questionnaire forms a part of the entire application package. So, your guess is as good as mine.

Re: XLRI GMP Prospective Students 2010 - 28-02-2010, 12:45 PM

I had my GMP interview today ... It went for about 30 mins ... the questions were:
1) Why GMAT & not XAT?
2) How is TCS & Tata Sons doing and what would you do to alleviate some of its problems?
3) Why MBA after IT? Infact why IT after electrical engineering?
4) What are your long term goals?
5) India is more focused on services now. Is it good or bad?

Best of Luck Puys!!!
