Though RK is official responder to this thread , I am just filling in for him.
Loans can be taken from your city also based on your convenience.
Processing from Joka campus would involve coming down here once to start the processing. And then frequent followups which might lead to irritation. But the advantage is for all installments, since you are in campus, the processing is very fast.
I personally had a tough time following up to get the loan approved but at the end the processing was smooth. In current batch there are quite a few who took loan from Joka SBI and few who took from their own cities.
One thing is sure, generally no loan is rejected from SBI Joka.

I am IN too ! yipee

Tough luck to those who didnt make it, am sure better things await and in anycase many waitlisted candidates will also get the offer, so there is hope.

Btw

1) when did the result come out ? I just checked pagalguy today and hence came to know the results are out, then checked the iim cal site to check the result ?

2) I have not received any email, the site just says : you will get a formal mail by 15th Nov. What would be the acceptance cut off in the case we receive email on 15th ?

Re: IIM Calcutta PGPEX IV : Admission process and beyond - 08-11-2009, 09:21 PM

I am OUT. Just pondering over possible reasons and thinking on whats next. I am wondering how much weightage was there for interview. Interview was friendly but do not think there were many questions. I am sure I did not do it bad so was hoping for selection. Looks like selected candidates have high GMAT or work experience or both. I have 680 (with IT background) and 6 and half years experience. I am thinking to work on GMAT again and apply next year, as I think that I could have slightly better chance with better GMAT...

My gut feel is that interview was just to validate if the person in apps is indeed the person. Bcos even in my interview it was ageneral chit-chat and nothing more. so once you are in a "band" based on your application there are good chances that yoiu will make it,

Now it is also a good time to check the theroy behing the application file number ...someone on this post mentioned before that the appls file number is your inital ranking based on the submitted apps ; and interview is just a validation of the same. mine was 33 and I got the final offer...so may be this theory hold true ?

Anyone else who got in can further substantiate through his/her apps. file # ?

My file number is 23#. I did not get the offer. But I dont see there is any such logic. There must be something else, that makes or breaks the interview.
