Hello fellas,

My interview was over yesterday and here are some brief details....

After the initial "hellos", I gave my file for one of the professors (a lady prof) and the other elder professor eased me into a simple conversation asking If I read books and why can't I gain all the knowledge an MBA provides just by reading books, on what books am I currently reading and why would one have to go through the pain of listening to cranky prof's etc...etc...One of the questions he asked about a genuine problem ( I guess) IIMC librarian currently faces , that not many students are borrowing books like they used in good old days and the experience of going through a complete book (academic mostly) is gone and asked What would I interpret. This went on for about 10-15 minutes

Next was, why MBA especially if you are doing good now and what would you want to achieve that the job cannot provide, this went on for about 5 minutes or so

In the mean time, the other professor asked me what I currently do (i work @ Microsoft) and went to ask about Open Source technologies and when MS would come up with a Open Source OS and the culture of the company in general. Later on, she moved to ask some typical project management questions and quickly concluded that the interview was over.

She asked if I had any questions and asked about accomodation preference (married/single) and it was bah! bye!!!

In all, the interview was conducted well and I never felt stressed (like I did in IIMA ). Anyways it is not over till the fat lady sings and hoping that the hunt for MBA admit call ends positively

yes they do conduct interviews in london. i think this year they opted for telephonic after initially scheduling a f2f

Your interview seems to have gone pretty casually, if I may say
Was your interview during the morning or the evening? How many candidates approximately did they interview before/after you?

Yes indeed. It was a very general discussion. The interview was scheduled at 4:00 PM in the evening and one of the last few to be interviewed for that day. In all, I guess there were about 40 candidates interviewed that day.

I feel my IIM Cal interview was more tricky than IIM A interview.

Hi target10, I guess my interview was also taken by the same panel and I also have similar experience. It was more like a friendly discussion than an interview
After the usual Whys questions and questions related to my profile and background, I have been asked to submit the proof of the date of commencement of employment through mail.

As with others, a thourough check on the educational and work experience documents. GMAT report was ignored, so were all other documents. Questions & discussions were general in nature, about my company, work culture, work-life balance etc. There was a real-life scenario case which I did not understand whether I was supposed to answer anything. Asked the panel, they said yes, and I gave my views on it. They did not look like that was the answer needed, and said maybe the question was not put down clearly.

Back to my work and life. Was asked about sabaticcal, accomodation etc.

Overall no crosss questions, no why MBA/IIMC etc, no current affairs/world view questions. It must have lasted just about 30 minutes.

Met dsr. Possbily more puys were there, couldn't recognize.

Hi Folks,

Did anyone of you guys submitted the copy of recommendation letter. I had one reco letter with me on the eve of interview but forget to submit (the other is on the way as my both recommendors were in US). Neither the prof asked me about it. Do I need to courier letters to IIMC?
