survey seems to be a nice joke. Amity on 9 better than fms and mdi not even in top 20.

Yes... these rankings seem to be unreal ! May be Business Today is using some wrong parameters to judge the b-schools... I was shocked to see SIBM Pune at #4 , ISB at 13 and SP Jain at 14 :-)

Re: 1 Yr PGPM at SPJain, Student Taking Questions!! - 06-11-2009, 04:26 AM

the writer seems to think that he/she can make some sense but I don't find any... more than anything else I find the logic childish.
It seems that the entire rating is based on only one thing "more value in less money" for corporate world. I think, If an IIM candidate is expecting more then it's not wrong , since that value has been build over the years by IIMs or other good institutes by keeping their standards high for a long time. In the IIM vs Amity example, there is no proof that if the company would have hired an IIM candiadate then they would have given him/her same kind of work as one hired from Amity. Only once that can be established, one can quantify the "more value in less money" for these schools.
I was laughing when I read that investing in Big schools like HARVARD may not add value to you just because a choosen few made blunders in the corporate world and world is thinking that its not the big name that matters but the values imparted. Firstly, HARVARD is big name because it has earned it by producing people of enormous talent by giving them right values. Secondly, what about the all other guys (which is a large number) who made their name in the world.....
The article and rankings are RIDICULOUS. Not because my college (SPJIMR) is listed at 14 below SIBM but because the reasoning is flawed...

I was able to access without any problem. Its basically a gmail corporate account given to SPJIMR. Your email id will end in '@spjimr.org' but in fact its a gmail account.

Yup. I have already integrated it with my personal Gmail account. I can now manage both accounts from one interface.

Gmail has some super nifty features which allow you to do that. I went about it as follows:
1. Go to the "Settings/Accounts and Import" tab of your personal Gmail account and add your spjimr account using the "Send mail from another address" option. Also check out the "When receiving a message:" options.
2. Set up forwarding from your spjimr inbox to your Gmail inbox from the "Settings/Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab of your spjimr account.
3. Create a label and a filter so that all mail from your spjimr account skips your Gmail inbox to be found under your custom label. (This is optional.)

Sophisticated users of Gmail would already be aware of these features, but I have described them for the benefit of any puys who don't know about them.
