Hey everyone,

IDP Consultants will work with you but you will have to request ASB to re-send your admission offer with reference to IDP as your acting agents. I guess it has to do with them getting the commission from the university. Additionally, the time is running low and I believe it will take 10-12 weeks, but I am hoping it is earlier. Otherwise i don't know if it would be ok to join later or defer the admission offer.

Anyone knows a fast track path to get an Oz student visa... please let us know!

i contacted an IDP consultant yest and she dropped the bomb on me by sayin that I am required to giv IELTS before applying for a visa..Neways lets c wt happens..M giving my IELTS n the 14th and then will apply for visa by the end of ds mnth..
its a loose loose situation for me as of now bt i'll v it a shot..
if neonw knws ne way to gt da visa dne faster do let me knw..

Hey Achikara,

That's true... IELTS is necessary for Australian Visa application now irrespective of you having given TOEFL. I would strongly suggest while you are waiting to give IELTS, get your other documents in order, as they will take time too, esp if you are working away from your family or whoever is sponsoring your studies.

Here is what is written in addendum to form 157 a (addendum-form157a.pdf).

Addendum to Form 157A- Application for a Student visa
(Design Date 07/09)
This addendum is effective from 21 August 2009 to reflect a change in the legal interpretation of the Student visa application requirements to demonstrate English language proficiency in accordance with Schedule 5A of the Migration Regulations 1994 (the Regulations). As of 21 August 2009 Student visa applicants may be eligible for visa grant if they sit an IELTS test and receive the requisite score after date of application but before date of decision.
English language proficiency test results included with a Student visa application must not be older than two years before the application lodgement date.
Student visa applications finalised before 21 August 2009 are not affected by the changed interpretation of the Regulations.

Note: If you are required to provide the results of an English
language test, you must sit the test before you lodge
your visa application. If you sit a test after you have lodged
your application, the results of this test cannot be taken into account.

hey there..abhishek here.. I too have been selected for AGSM and gave my IELTS yest.. I read ur comments regarding the addendum by means of which I can tomo itself. Could you throw some more light on this.. where to look for and how to go about it. I got in touch with IDP people and they said I could o0nly apply for my visa after I obtain my IELTS result..
