Boston College doesn't send out interview invites for R1 applicants.

All R1 applicants are eligible for an interview, and you have to schedule your own through the admissions website. See if it not too late yet, and schedule an interview as soon as possible. Worst case if you don't find any empty slots, then do call up admissions dept to schedule an interview.

Hope it helps, and do feel free to reach out to me via mail.
Thanks Rakesh for taking time out from ur hectic schedule to help us out.
But one thing..Am a R1 applicant and carroll sent me an interview invite and asked me to schedule the interview..I scheduled it and post the interview, got an admit too from carroll within 3 days..

Also, it would be great if u cud provide some info on the aid and scholarship info..how generous is carroll and is it possible to get a full funding or a substantial one?

Regards,
Mouli

Hey Mouli,

We are actually on our break right now after the 1st semester finals. Well the 1st semester was hectic to say the least. And I am going for this amazing Tech Trek, visiting tech companies on the west coast in the break, so my break is pretty booked as well.

As for the interview invites, I don't know if BC changed their policy, or they sent an invite to you since you had not scheduled one (and they wanted to be nice and remind you )

Well congratulations for your admit, and hope to see you next year at BC. Don't hesitate to contact me for any queries via email as well.

Now, for the aid and scholarship part, BC doesn't help you with any aid if you don't have some US citizen to cosign for you. If you know someone in the US who can cosign for you, then you can get a much lower interest rate than what Indian banks provide (well this was the case untill last year, when the economy wasn't this bad ).

But the good thing is that BC started giving out generous Scholarship and Graduate Assistantship packages from last year to attract more international students. So you are in for a good deal, not a full ride but yes a substantial one. Looking at your profile, I guess you should be getting something above 50% of tution fees. It might be different this year though, since the no of applications has increased significantly given the economic conditions.

So just wait and watch, you should be getting your admit package within a few days now, where you will be able to know the exact amount of schol and GA, along with other details. So keep your fingers crossed, and let us know the amount of schol you receive.

Rakesh

And not to give you all really high hopes about the scholarships, I would suggest waiting for your individual admit packages to check them out for yourselves.

The endowment funds of all universities in the US has taken a serious beating given the economy, and to add to it the economy has spurred a significant increase in the # of applications for MBA programs.

All said, I still hope you guys receive generous schols, and see you all at BC next year.

Hi Raj,

Its the same application link where you would have filled ur application details and submitted. Inside that page, there was a link below which had my decision. The application link is

https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=bc-mba

Here you will hv to login using your applyyourself pin and password and you can see your decision if available. Carroll sent me all these details once again (even though i knew them) once they had updated the decision. Yesterday i even received the official admit packet thro fedex and the schol info as well. I hv been given 6940$ deans scholarship and 3060 $ GA .
All the best for your decision.

How did u guys schedule ur interview via online login?? did u mail them asking for a interview?? i didnt find any such option for telephonic interview in online login...!! all events were on-campus meets..

I didnt get a mail from BC yet..my app status says still under review..and now they say that decision wud be out by jan 15?? i mailed them and they say that all slots are filled till jan 30..i m not even given a chance for interview only bcoz their slots r filled !!..

A current student from BC asked me to wait in dec until i get a mail from BC..
and it never happened..so i chilled fully from nov-15 and staying away from PG also costed me dearly now

BC is the only clg i apped so far..with high spirits..and this is how it ends..totally absurd..

btw Congos Mauli..

Hey Naresh aka Neo,

Sorry for not responding sooner, since I am on the road now on the Tech Trek trip to the west coast organized by BC. It is a really awesome trip, and I will definitely be giving out details later for everyone to take into consideration, as yet another distinctive advantage for BC.

I guess you did do a mistake by not scheduling an interview for yourself earlier, this part is a really confusing (especially for international students) and I will definitely take it up with the adcomm.

And I guess now that you are having your interview on Jan 15th, so most probably you should get your decision by around Jan 30th or so.

Last year, all Indian students had their in-person interviews in India around the 15th mark, and we got our decisions after 2 weeks.

Just best of luck for your interview, hope you crack it.

Rakesh
