As per my understanding, the adcom will inform the individual directly(through email)if he or she has received the tuition waiver. So i suggest you follow up with somebody in the adcom.

Any word on this would be much appreciated!

I contacted one of the admission commitee members at SDA. They informed that all the existing tuition waivers were already alloted to eligible candidates. They do not seem to have any other types of scholarship other than those mentioned in the website. When one of those, who received schol doesnot turp up to join, you might have a chance to get schol along with others with out schol. For this you might initially have to accept their admission by paying the requisite amount.

Re: SDA Bocconi, Italy - 2008-09 MBA Student taking questions - 03-08-2009, 02:46 PM

Hello Everyone,
I have the same run~of~the~mill Profile evaluation question, was wondering if anyone can help me.

Acads:
82% in Xth
90% in XIIth
7.4 GPA in Coll, Mechanical Engineering from VIT Vellore,

Work Ex
1 year in Cognizant, Chennai
1 Year in Sales & Marketing in a US based automotive Start UP where i was handling an entire productline
with sales of around 500 Crores.
(Total 2 years)

EC
Won Lots of awards in Debate's Elocution, Science Exhibitions, Worked for a Trust set up for cancer
patients & some other NGO's.

Now the sad part
640 (Q 48, V 31) in GMAT with 5.0 in AWA

I am planning to apply to Bocconi for the 2010 intake but wanted to know
-if this profile has any weight?
- Do I need to retake my GMAT, (due to the work pressure I would not be able to prepare at all this time
too)
- Do I look at other colleges which are not so highly graded but are good nevertheless??
Need you collective help...

Hey Zek

with us there was no option of online referral... a bit unfortunate
and
u dont need to submit any proof of financial ability though u will b asked to mention a rough split of your financial support system for the entire education. you will need to specify ( a rough estimate) about how much you intend to sponsor through self n how much through loan/scholarships et.al

hope this helps!
ciao

Hi nampram

Thanks for the information,
olrt then what do u suggest is a better way of sending the reco?
filling it in by hand in the pdf provided and then getting them signed.
or just attaching a signed general print to the pdf, and filling in the option questions.

Thanks,

Zek.

SDA Bocconi, Italy - Aspirant - 14-10-2009, 01:07 AM

Hi sdabocconi_09..
I am working in the IT industry for the past 2 years and planning to apply to SDA Bocconi for the 2010 batch.
Given the large numbers which work in the IT ind, i am a little apprehensive about my application prospects
Have a few questions and would be really grateful for any input from your side..

1. What made you decide on SDA Bocconi as ur B-School?
2. Are there any students with 3 yrs of experience in your batch?
3. How long does it generally take for teh application process? I know the review starts on 1st Nov..but by when would the interview actually be held?
4. Do you know what the application review team is actually looking for in the aaplication?

Thanks
SDAB Aspirant

Re: SDA Bocconi, Italy - 2008-09 MBA Student taking questions - 22-11-2009, 09:28 PM

Hi all

Nice to have someone you people helping us out with our queries. I came across this blog while surfing some info on MIP/ Bocconi.

Firstly, I should start with my introduction.

I am currently working with one of the leading KPO's worldwide. My total work experience is more than 3 years. I am keen on pursuing MBA from abroad and have been searching for options for past 5-6 months. 1 month back, I was advised by a counseller to look for MIP or Bocconi as these match my criteria and limitations.

My Background:

X- CBSE: 77%, XII- CBSE: 79%, B.SC Elect (H)- DU: 64%, PGDBA (SCDL- Correspondence): 79%, CFP (FPSB India), PG Diploma in Financial Planning (ICFP, India- not much renowned college).

Limitations:

Scarce funding arrangements

Purpose

My sole purpose to join an abroad institute is to multiply my compensation.

Questions/ Clarifications: I think you are the best person to help me with these

1) Are the univ(s) right fit for me?
2) How have been the placements firstly for Indian people/ secondly for people with finance background and those who pursue specialisation in finance?
3) Any idea about size and compensation offered in India to the passouts?

Also, please let me know if I can connect somewhere to find information on this as I have been trying to find people or groups but have been unsuccessful so far.

Your advice would be really helpful for me.

Thank you very much

Regards
Hitesh
