Hello queveo! welcome to PG.I am quite new here as well, but I couldn't help but reply to your query.Firstly, your profile,is extremely impressive! You have tremendous experience behind you,and a unique diversity factor that most MBA schools look for.Oxford SBS,and JBS,Cambridge are great schools, but have you considered IMD,in Switzerland? It's a top ranking business school, and your experience, age, diversity etc seem a perfect fit.Given your experience,I don't think your quant score matters a whole lot,so if I were you,I would focus on the unique aspects of my application-your leadership, your academic background, your culture.Just reading your brief profile,I can see you have many interesting stories to tell ,and your essays should reflect that.

Just a query-why would you not like an EMBA? For most schools, the EMBA follows the same curriculum, the same same study method as a regular one..the only difference would be your peers,as it makes sense for your class to be at more or less the same level as you.

But do consider IMD's MBA program,I would rate it the best for highly experienced professionals.Good Luck!

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your reply and insight. It's very encouraging!
Well, one of my problems is my age...IMD would be great, but when I read their students profiles, I sense that, at 37, I may not be a good fit, even though as i said in my previous post I lost 2 years because of strikes.
As for the EMBA, I view it as less competitive, intense, and thorough than the MBA( not to mention more expensive). But I have to admit I did not do my homework on EMBA very seriously...
Thank you very much again for your insight!

You are welcome.I just had a look at the class profiles, and there are quite a few with 11+ years of experience..and many close to your age..http://www.imd.ch/programs/mba/uploa...s_profile.pdf?

The school will look at various factors-and your age can be offset by the fact that you spent a considerable number of years in the academic arena, with a masters in law etc,and your work ex is certainly very close to the average at IMD..so I still feel it is a fanstastic school for you!
Good luck in whatever you decide and all the best for your dream!

Btw,how about schools in the US? Harvard?

Well, thanks to you, I think I'm going to consider very seriously applying to IMD, as it fits to many of my criteria( one year ,renowned program,etc.). I'll put aside that age thing and adress it in the application. I don't plan to apply to US MBAs because of their duration.
Thanks again, and good luck to you too.

queveo, INSEAD is also a very good option for you. your french language would be a great advantage there, plus u mentioned you have had grad studies in france. again since its a fast rack (10 months) course it looks for people with higher wrkex.

another option is Cranfield in UK. again..known for taking people with higher ages and work ex. (i know someone cose to 35-37 having joined that place.)

cheers.ats.

I am looking for sample student profiles for Cambridge and Judge, but not able to find any. for some other schools I have seen them as part of placement broucher ...but can't see any for above 2 schools ?

I am interested in accepted Indian profiles for these two institutes ? If you folks have come across any ...pls do share.

Just want to make sure that I am applying right :-)

Thanks

Something here but not the typical indian profile that you may be looking for.
