Hi vb, there wasn't anything really unusual or unanticipated in my interview. It was the routine questions about my profile, experiences and goals, with a lot of conversation thrown in...

1- Walk me through your resume

2- You've made your own website.. challenges faced? What is the one thing you didn't know when you started it, that you now know?

3- More discussion on the website.. specific questions about how I run it.. who uses it and how frequently..

4- Why MBA? Why Duke?

5- What other schools have you applied to? Why (for each school)?

6- Educational background.. why did you decide to go in IT?

7- What is it that you do in your software company, in layman terms?

8- Extra-curriculars, cinema.. what is the big thing happening in Indian cinema these days? Some more questions on cinema..

That's all I remember.. A few more questions of this nature.. Hope that helps.. lemme know if you need any more inputs..

Rahul.

Hey puys,
Had my Duke interview this morning in Bangalore.
It was a good experience...one of the few times I came out of an interview smiling. Cynthia conducted my interview....very enthusiastic lady & good fun to talk to. She hardly asked me any Q's other than
Why MBA/Fuqua
what will u contribute to the class
extra curriculars
which other schools I am interested in & y?

The interview was over in less than 20 mins & at the end she said 'I find you a close fit to what Team Fuqua represents. u are very engaging, u smile a lot and have the right amount of eye-contact. u have an impressive resume & I hope to see you soon'.
I dont know what that means really in terms of an admit, but atleast it made my day
I think I will be WL'ed coz of my poor GMAT score.

Good luck to all those who have their interviews scheduled!!

Hi my interview was on 16th Feb. There were not any unexpected questions asked.

Questions asked were

q1. All indian applicants have great gmat, good engineering background, good work experience so how do u differentiate urself from others
q2. have u faced any issues with team work
q3. why duke
q4. have u been to US
q5. do u see ur future in ur current company
q6. what abt funding

Cynthia took my interview. She was very enthusiastic and polite. At no point, you will feel that your interview is going bad. You will come out of interview smiling. Lets see how they differentiate one from other.

Has anyone received a mail for the upcoming Duke information sessions in India, to be held in March-April 2009?

I got a mail just now.. is there any worth of these events for current applicants? What generally happens at these?

Yes, I got a mail too and I would be attending the session in Hyderabad. No harm in attending.

Are there any people here who have an ISB admit and still waiting for Duke results?

Hello guys,

Has anyone received an email from Duke asking to update the address and phone number? They mentioned that it is important that you get the decision via mail.

I did not request an interview and was not invited to an interview. Is this a good sign or bad one?

Any thoughts??

F

Gogzi is correct.. this mail is sent to everyone..

As far as I heard from past students.. they will send you a ding letter also by post, so they need to know your correct address How silly is that !!

But franki, of course you know that Duke admits some students without interviews (as much as 5-10%) so you need to keep up the hopes till March 10th !!

Best,
Rahul.

If I may ask, though, why did you not request an interview?
