I am anyway out - worst interview of my life - even my college sessionals were better
So enjoying - aur agli saal ki preparation - Next yr to IIMA/B/C/L ISB XLRI sabhi ka admit lena hai. Plan to is saal ka bhi yehi tha per IIMA aur ISB ne dhokha diya aur L ne wahi kiya jo maine sapne mai bhi nahi socha

Given my 2 year experience of this MBA admission process, I think interview performance does not really play huge importance in the final selection. I have seen guys getting selected in the final list even after their interviews got screwed up. So, I would suggest not to rule yourself out. Wait for the final list and you might be pleasantly surprised.
Good Luck to all. Guys in India, try to call IIML next week and see if they can reveal date for the result.

If Crab says so, then IT IS SO
Now a very quick 'ander ki baat': Ask your referees / recommenders if they have been contacted any way by anyone seeking information / opinion on you. This contact can be by and to:
[1] Job consultant; for Background check.
[2] Phone Marketier; for your 'duration in company' / position etc.
[3] Colleague of referee{current company}; for another 'new' position.
[4] Casual caller (long lost acquaintance); Seek general info.
[5] Any direct caller; Seek direct information.
My referee just said this to me: 'You should now do a part time MBA like I am doing'.
{DING - dang - DING, DING DING DING - dingooooo  }

well ... touchwood . i wish crab's words would be true ...
I dont know if it happens to some of you as well,
But i have observed the thoughts about the IIML i/v keep just coming back to me .... And in retrospect i see myself wondering how i couls have responded to a query in a better way, or just feel like kicking myself for saying something which i now feel was unnecessary and should have been best avoided... and the more i dissect the i/v the more i seem to feel that i probably messed it up... maybe it is the anxiety ... for i know that since my wrk-ex is on the lower side with no intl work-ex , my chances are slim anyway ... but still hope is a big thing ....
anyways atb guys and yeah letz try to dig sum info abt the placement scene for the current batch ... and ofcourse the final list ... the web-site puts it for the 1st week of Jan, so no chances this month

1choice, so someone contacted your referee?
sorry, I seriously can't make anything out of your post..
by the way, I was offered admission last year and none of my referees were contacted.

Shuldn't I be the one saying 'sorry' if my post did not make sense?
"SORRY"
Yes, my referee was contacted. He had no idea when chatting with the old acquaintance that this was a profile check on me, but on hindsight he feels it could be.
My take:
[1] unrelated to ipmx (as you say, no contact happens) and this could be for one of the background checks in a new job.
[2] Those clearly selected and rejected are left alone, the 'GREY' ones are scrutinized properly.
Any guesses?

It really is unusual if IIML is trying to check with referees before giving final offer. Although I don't think your referee contact was from IIML, but if it was then IIML can't reach my referees this week as our company is under mandatory shutdown and my referees will unlikely check their official emails before Jan 5th.
