Well, a top ranker in Jee, not ncessarily be a good communicator and hence may not be a good People's maanger, he might excel being a Business Analyst...

My take is...Scores are indicative of ones mindset and intellect but matter in profile to profile...In Business scenario prevailing in India, an person with avd to bad acads can also do well( in the field of his interest)....nevertheless does not matter, we should accept the fact that good acads are taken in postive light,and i am bound to loose points because of poor acads..

My advise would be dont hurry in answering the questions.Be calm and try to divert the questions towards points of your strength..!!!

Trust me everyone has some weakness of othre, some have weak acads, some have confidence issue, some face comm problems..list is endless

I am desirous of PGPX in an Indian bussiness school with facility of placementand preferably close to Delhi. I am preparing for GMAT in 2009. My stats are as under.

Age-42,Work ex-23yrs,Acad-BE(civil),MSc(strategy)-73%,Profession-Colonel in Army.

Can you advice me for selection of instiute and suitability of GMAT for admission?;-)

Though this thread is dedicated to IIML, i would still throw some light on options available for you.

Since you have still not given GMAT, u have missed/will Miss the deadlines for most of the colleges in India

These are the colleges which impart prgrams for executives with work ex.Am not too sure how many particpants would have 20 years of exp..which is the case with you, but there are definitely 1 off participants in each batch with such rich exp as is in your case..

What i have observed from my discussions on PG and otherwise IIMA & IIMC would be comparitevely better places for you( They have a inclination to pick ppl with higher work ex) At IIMA avg work ex is around 10-11 yrs, wherein at ISB its only 5..

so u need to introspect which college you wanna target, suited to your needs,

My friend told me that faculties are quite knowledgeable and experienced. But the main problem is separation from main campus. And that is the reason he suggested me to prefer IIMB to IIML even when IIMB's EPGP is just starting and IPMX is one yr old.

I also met one alumnus of ISB and as per him, entrepreneurial focus is really very good in ISB.

Saket, if you do not mind, my sincere advice:
(1) Stop bothering about your flow - focus on your strength. More you bother about your speech, worse you would perform. So keep fingers crossed and believe in God and yourself.
(2) Just be yourself - confident. Read editorial and explain excerpt to your wife (if married) or your friend (if he is ready to help you) in English. This will help you to be up-to-date with current affairs and also to manage your conversation on topics you are not familiar.
