Like any typical MCP i dont mind the Tareef u did:-) On a serious note i just write what my heart says and i follow this principal at work also...have many friends and lotsa ppl dislike me too cos of the upfront attitude..anyways not digressing from the topic..You have really got it bang on Diversity factor...its not work+education etc which determine the diversity thing, but then Work+Education at school+College typicaaly accounts for 90% of your life hence due weigtage is given to these factors..

In my particular case I have travelled and worked in over 50 diff cities in india, right from sikkim,to Chennai, Jammu,Gujarat,punjab to name a few..I really value the exp.Have learnt from various cultures etc, but i dunno what would adcom from colleges make of this exp..

Have been out of my hometown for 12 yrs now,left it after class 12..

Coming to I/v thing, i guess every experience makes a diff, and an Interview with IIM folks should be enriching in itself..sigh sigh i wont be there...

Again coming back to me, am Based of Chennai cos of my work, relocated from Delhi a year back as i got transferred...WIfey is in IT was not too diff for her to switch jobs..Born and Brought up in Lucknow..

Guys.. anyone else here received further communication regarding interview dates? the latest email that some people received indicated interview dates of only Dec 15 and 16th. If thats true then I dont expect total shortlisted candidates to be more than 100 unless IIML declares holiday for those 2 days and send all his faculty as interview panels in multiple cities.

Crab reminds me of Cancer, the water sign- At least that's our common link (Other than the fact that I have been in applying business for some time now)

My calculation:
[1] Interview in at least 5 different Indian cities
[2] At least 14 candidates per day (iimB 15 - 16 per day)
[3] Total in-person interviews = 5*14*2 = 140
[4] Telephonics = 10 odd

Calculation says at least 150 interviews which somehow does not tally with my initial estimate of 200 shortlisted candidates (to select 70).

Dear jj_cale- C'mon yaar; if already selected in PGPX you may as well decline L's interview invite; give your below-mba-poverty-line fellow applicants that much more chance

Yup..I am a cancerian and this is my second year in the "applying" business..

I am not so sure about 5 interview cities... moreover concentration of shortlisted candidates would be more in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore regions.

There are only 50 seats in IIML, so it does not make sense to shortlist more than 150 but if only 2-day interview schedule is correct then even 150 is a long shot. Anyway we will find out more once interview dates are intimated by the institute.

Dear comrades, if the interview panel asks you this question, what will be your answer :
Lalu Prasad Yadav recently turned around railways and is being admired for his great achievement. Honestly do you think, if there was a guy in 30s with the same background & qualifications ike Lalu and apply for IIMs/ISB will he get admitted ? If yes, how ? If not, according to you whats wrong with the process ?

one more in for the interview , received the email , but my naem does nt figure on the website , it came as a suprise , me to IPMX me invite nahi aane ka matam mana chuka tha ,

chalo lets see , when hey do their interview , Guys this time couple of students could nt attend interviews in mumbai bcoz of that raj thakre thing , Please some one from delhi go and tell ADCOM about this tell them not to condust this interviews there in mumbai atleast.

what say guys ?

My take:
If this candidate had met the screening requirements (of which he was aware), a lot would have depended on the interview. So why not - this guy could have made it to iiM or could not depending on the interview & other factors.

Point 2: Not all managers are produced from B-schools. As a matter of fact most entrepreneurs who have made it big (or rags-2-riches) did not attend Havard / Yale / iim.

So do I get an admit with this answer or is this all trash?
Or are you gonna reject me because that's my Matrix?

We have (Raj has) shot ourselves in the foor by bringing Mumbai in limelight for all wrong reasons. I do find some logic in his arguments. And it's not Raj who is completely at fault. It's just the manifestation of our political maturity and political system.

Come what may, including today's terror attacks, Mumbai has to be a center. I'll look forward to meeting anybody on this forum at interview location.........
