Brandmanager,
Don't worry.Verbal was problem for me as well.I was loosing concentration while reading the passage. One suggestion: pick up your strength in verbal and try to score as much as possible in that section. I am sure you will not do miserably in other sections of verbal.Verbal score of 34/35 along with quants 49/50 will take you to 700.

Hi Folks,
I have been silently observing this thread since a long time, enjoying (pardon me for doing so) the debates, commotion, expression of ideas. A brief introduction about me:
I am from the first batch of IPMX, and my main purpose is to clarify doubts, present reality, and help you folks with the application process in any possible way. I have around 7 years of experience in Consumer Banking. Before coming to Noida Campus, I was working overseas with a reputed bank. I did my B.Tech from IIT, Kanpur.
Please feel free to ask me anything about the program or the institute- infrastructure, separate campus, placements, batch, etc. Please expect me to respond within 24 hours as currently I am in Montreal, Canada for our international module.
So, all the best with your applications...

Thanks for taking the time out. I really appreciate the initiative. Since you are the very first batch so we really dont have any insight about this program. It would be great if you could provide us with a synopsis of you experience so far at IIML-Noida Campus. I mean how's the program being handled by the IIML, the faculty interest towards this program, corporate partnership in terms of guest lectures etc., the infrastructure, and efforts by the placements committee and how much help are they getting from main campus in Lucknow. Also, you views about the international immersion in Montreal.. what exactly you guys are doing there?
I know its a long list.. but please take your time replying to these queries. Thanks in advance.

Hello.
Thanks for your kind offer for help. I have a concern which has been bothering me enough to prevent me from applying for IPMX, despite my keen interest. I understand that IIML-NC does not offer family housing and my family constraints need my attention ( a little baby ), I dropped a mail to Adcom but they responded that I should apply and something might work our, when I replied back to ask them to confirm that if such cases were helped in current batch, they didn't respond. I would really appreciate your advice on this matter. I have to keep family with me, can they allow me to live outside campus in Sector62 itself, or can they allow me to manage with familily within the room they provide. Has there been any such case in current batch. Kindly advise.
Thanks a lot.

Folks,
Let me try to answer the questions put so far
1. Experience so far: It has been truly transforming. I think my objectives of coming to a B School have been met pretty well here. Although faculty assesment is a very subjective thing, I have found the faculty to be overall very good, esp the Finance and Marketing ones. I can go on for several paras but that will bore you . Let me know if you have any specific thing to ask.
2. Family accomodation- There is no permanentfamily accomodation so far that I know of. However, getting your family to Noida is no big deal. There are plenty of apartments near by and most of us have our families living there. Somebody asked about living outside the campus- nobody stops you from doing so. I keep going home almost everyday ( I too have a one year old daughter) and nobody cares. However the rigour of the program will not allow you to spend too much time with family, esp. in the first few months . Finally, it is better to speak to ad com directly. There is lot of work going on in the campus and we have a new building ready. May be it is the one that has family accomodation. I should be able to confirm once I am back to campus.
3. Faculty interest- Every Professor who has come from Lucknow has said that our batch is better than PGP. I think this speaks a lot about our batch as well as the faculty`s interest in us. Noida campus is a separate campus only in locational terms. Yes, earlier we thought there were some issue with people coming over to Noida from Lucknow, but then every new set-up has teething issues, which are over now. In fact, we now have few new full time faculty members in the Noida campus, and as the infrastructure improves, I am sure the campus will attract many.
4. Guest Lectures- We have initiated a Leadership series which has seen many senior industry leaders such as the Global Executive Member of LG, Sr. Vice President of IRMA, Senior Executive from Indian Brand Equity foundation, HR Director Asia Pacific of Hewitt. The list is endless. In fact, we are so packed with this series that we had to drop a few names. People want to be associated with the IIML brand. We have few visiting faculty from industry too who take full credit courses. This has turned out to be one of the biggest advantages of being in NCR.
5. Placements- Our placements would start somewhere around Jan. Our Corporate Interaction Committee is already working with companies and we had got a very positive response from the industry, even before the course started! Since this is a very confidential matter, I cannot divulge much on this, but rest assured, placements will not be an issue. Regardless of what anybody says, it is very important for IIML to make this program a success.
6. International Module- We have a full term at the University of McGill where we are doing courses in Strategy and International finance. We are also getting to meet industry people and diplomats from places such as the Indo-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Among other things, the module includes visists to Industries, and Stock Exchanges in Montreal and Toronto. Let me know whether you have any specific questions regarding the module.
Feel free to ask more questions.

Hi Askme,
Thanx for taking time out, this will be really helpful for us aspirants. I've a very strange question for you. I am a Software Professional, working as a Project Manager in an Indian Software Products company, my total experience is about 11 years.
I am a very severe stuttering problem, which gets even more pronounced in stress situations like interviews. How will this affect my prospects during the personal interview, and if I get selected, later in placement interviews?
Regards
Nitin

nitin,
I am also a project manager IT but have 7 years of experience.I have gone through many meetings with customers(I am also part of Business Development).I am a very simple solution for your problem.I am sure you are very knowledgable in your area. Just realize your strength. Before attending any interview just walk inside the room thinking you are the smartest guy in the room. This is not arrogancy but confidence.Realizing that you know the best in your area will make you confident.Anything related to your area you can solve it in minutes. You will not know everything in the world and that is not your fault also.Just state the fact what you know and what you don't know. If you don't know something simply say no.The key is, what ever you do,try to be the best in that area. The interview panel may know something which you don't know and what you know they may not be knowing. Remember you have a team at workplace which is following you .
I apply my thoughts but I try to know as much as possible before a discussion(interview/meeting etc) on certain topic.
