Re: XLRI GMP - Admissions and Beyond - 20-07-2009, 03:22 PM

Hi All,

Does one need to be employed at the time of applying for the XLRI GMP program? Will they consider the profile of someone who has substantial work experience but is not employed at the time of applying for the GMP program?

I am interested in applying for the 2010 GMP program. I have around 8 years of work experience. I had to quit my last job very recently due to some medical reasons and don't have plans to start working anytime soon. In most likelyhood I would be unemployed at the time of applying for the 2010 GMP program (which I guess is in the month of Nov 2009). Just want to know, if I would be eligible to apply for the program and would XLRI consider me on the basis of my previous work experience ?

Any pointers in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Sandeep

I don't think thats an issue as long as you have a genuine issue and you can convince the interview panel accordingly. Highlight the same in you essays too.

Would also suggest that if your medical condition permits, try doing some work, howsoever small it might be.

Is the 5 years of work ex, a mandate condition. Also, when it is said 5 yrs of manegerial work ex required. Does this mean your intial probation period in the company won't be counted. seniors please help. i m planning to apply for next year, but falling short by 3-4 months of work ex.

Probation would be counted as part of experience... But any training done in company, if part of course, would not be counted.
Yes, 5 yrs. is a must but you may call up XL adcom and ask if they can relax 2-3 months...

The reply is no different from what I have said in my last post !
4.3 per me has less chance of any waiver too if XL is looking for 5 yrs ! But you may call up adcom when notification for admission comes up and ask abt ur individual case...

Hi ,

As a potential applicant to this program,
I am very much interested in viewing the class of 2009 placement statistics.

Please can you tell me where i can access this information or can you share this information.
The website shows the 2008 class placement information as of now.

Thanks and regards,
HappyMan.
