Query about Management Information Systems (MIS)

Hi i have a long list of queries can anyone pls answer them:
I have a following profile
I have around 3 years of experiance in infosys, 1.5 years prev exp
I have toefl score of 108, GMAT i m giving in sept 08.I was planning for Management information systems as it is cheaper and related to my feild.
N they also accept GMAT scores:

n now for the queries:
1.Is is worth doing..i.e from US..will it be equivalent to MBA?

2.What are the good universities
the few i know are
CMU,case western,arizona...
can anybody give information about more universities? thaT ACCEPT gmat?

3.What is the minimum GMAT score needed?


4.When shoud be the best date to apply


5.Will my experiance be good if i get low score..?

6.ARE THERE 1YR DURATION COURSES?

Hi,

I also gave my GMAT recently,and got a 700(Q49, V36).
I also have the same query as u.
Also could suggest some top univesities that offer MS in MIS, and also accept GMAT scores.

1.well if u go in terms of degree in MIS u get degree of MS except Purdue which gives MBA in MIS. and YES its more than worth doing from a good US school. generally i wld prefer doing from MIS offered by B-school of US univ .. as for your info MIS can b offered by a b-school or Comp science. so jst check out which one is offering u that in a particular university. as i mentioned above in my list above

2. there r loads jst lemme know ur GMAT score..
3. minim as such depends ..but a good GMAT something above 680 will land u in one of the best ones
4. sometime around sept it starts apply in first round ASAP
5. depends..it all depens on ur SOP and how u capitalise on ur exposure. GMAT is jst a part of it not the final take. also there r many univ which doesn;t accpet GMAT score ..they take GRE so visit there website and confirm that before applying
6.YEs CMU offers that.

My Profile is :
Studies : Average - Engineering in Information Technology
Curricular Activities : Very Good
Exp : 3 yrs of IT Exp in leading MNC by (APR 09)-- Exceedingly good performance and growth
Also have 3 months Internationalxperience, might be able to add few more months to this before Fall 09
I am looking for an MBA in following fields (numbered based on priority)
1. IT/Infrastructure Industry
2. Operations Management
3. Finance Management
I might prefer working for 2 yrs atleast in US or singapore after MBA.
Can you please help me with college names along with SCORES and academic profile they prefer.
How much would be average cost in US or Singapore?

hi frens,

my wife gave her gmat last yr and got 590. she will have around 6 years of IT work exp by the time (fall '09) she's planning to apply for MBA or Mgmt in Info Systems, offered by a B_School, but not MS in IS.

she has a under-grad gpa of around 3.7 and has done some xtra cirricular activities as well.

can u pls suggest some good schools in US where she can apply and has a good chance of admission. she does not want to take the pain of taking gmat again and hence want to apply with the same score (590).
