You would need a minimum GMAT score of 700 to make into any IIM. Last year IIMC has called several people for interview with 700 GMAT score.
IIMA needs 99th%ile it looks like - 760 or there abouts.
It is unclear what is the minimum GMAT of admitted candidatres at IIMB; but it is unlikely that one can get admit with less than 700 GMAT score.

No. If you would like to get into IIMs, achieve as high a GMAT score as you can get- IIMs tend to love high GMAT scores even more than the US B-schools. Don't target 700; if you have the ability to get more with greater preparation, aim for it.
Good luck.

@Abhinav: Do all the IIMs require GMAT to be taken from abroad to be eligible to apply?

Some of them do. Not all.
What all of them do require is that for a period of time, varying between 15 to 24 months you should have been abroad, prior to the date of application and you should also not have been in India at the time of current CAT exam.

Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 04-11-2009, 03:51 AM

Question about IIM-A application. With the application we are supposed to give proof of saying outside India for a duration. What will suffice for this proof ? Are copies of my passport and college transcripts from a US university enough ? Should I also put in pay stubs with my application.

Thanks,
Q

Hey
I suggest you should try to get an NRI status certificate from the Indian embassy in your country. I did the same.
If you get that certificate then none of the IIM's can regard your proof as insufficient.
Your passport copies may also work; however I would suggest you get a certificate made.

As far as the passport copies are concerned, I would suggest you call the particular IIM to confirm.

Good Luck

Regards
