Mridula,

The dates are different for each IIM.

As far as i remember, last year the following were the dates:
15th Dec was the date for IIM-A and IIM-S
9th Jan was for IIM-C
15th Jan was for IIM-I
31st Jan was for IIM-K
9th Feb was for IIM-B
27th Feb was for IIM-L

You have enough time with you. Try to score well in GMAT coz that's the most crucial factor at this stage.
I also passed out from BITS-Pilani, Dubai last year. I am currently at IIM-Calcutta. Feel free to clear all your doubts.

btw that's my profile

GMAT: 730
Work Ex: None
Education: B.E. (Hons) Comp Sc
College: BITS-Pilani, Dubai

Hope that'll help. Good Luck!

Hi Abhinav,

I have a question. Do you know how important is the GPA? As in how much it is weighted wrt to GMAT, workex, extra curricular activies, recommendation letters etc? I only have a low 70s(but a world top 10 university for engg). Hence I am a bit worried.

Thank you,

CbLb

@CbLb,

I feel the AdCom is looking for candidates with good exposure and well rounded personalities. It certainly makes a difference if you have good extracurriculars and cocurriculars. Having or not having work-ex isn't an issue coz there are both kinds of students in the IIMs.
I think since you are studying in a very good insitution, your GPA shouldn't make that much a difference. Ofcourse, it is always better to have good grades .

Almost all IIMs list their selection criterion. You'll be able to easily find it on their respective sites. However, I still believe that after you get a call, your interview makes the maximum difference. This is just my personal opinion and experience.

@Mridula,

Yes, the schedule here is damn hectic and taxing.

Prepare well. Good luck to you all.

Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 29-09-2009, 09:07 AM

Hi All,

I have a query regarding USD Demand draft, Which is required by Most of IIMs.

Following up on previous posts abt USD DD , I checked up with Axis Bank India about USD and the bank said that they can make a USD DD. But The issue is that the draft they provide is payable at New York(or Newark) US . This is causing a confusion for me because IIM instructions (eg lucknow) says that the USD draft should be payable at India.

Can smbody ,who has gone through the processs, pls clarify ?

Many Thanks
