Hi avenkate,

Not sure about your complete profile, but I think 700+ should be a safer score. Also since there are a very few seats and the number of people applying too many, the higher the score the better!!!

Am back on after a break. Took my GMAT this Saturday. Am mostly satisfied with my 760. Don't know if its good enough for the IIMs but defn good for any other school. (sigh) Anyway, is there anyone who applied already or is applying to the IIMs. First deadline is Ahmedahad on Dec 15th.

Thanks. Yeah a 760 is a good score. No doubt. I was just hoping for a 760-790 to offset my lack of work ex. I will have 1 year upon matriculation.

This season I am only applying to IIM ABC

Atleast with IIM B&C you can write an SOP. But with IIM A it seems like scores and number of years of work ex are all they are concerned with.

I am applying to IIM A,B and C.
Preparing my IIMA application as it is due by Dec 15th.
Also need to finish up C which is due Jan 7th. I can work on B slowly as it is expected only by Feb 17th.

My profile :
720 GMAT
5 yrs full-time exp in IT.
Decent acads in Engg.

I dont understand why IIMB needs 3 recos...I have to go after my old-old boss who might/might not remember me anymore

Good luck to all.

hi all,

i have a couple of questions for you experts out there.

first, is the IIM-A application only 7 seven pages long? I mean, don't we have to write essays? Also, the application states to provide details only of the last job (i have had two jobs in the last four years). should i describe my both experieinces or just the last one?

second, what do you guys thing about my chances? my profile is:

GMAT: 690 (Q78 & V 90) I suck in math, not like the indian quant genuieses out there
WE: 4 years - small enterprise and change management consulting
BBA: top ten US business school
MA: top ten US School
Extracurricular: Excellent in college and good afterwards

left india when i was ten and am strongly gravitating towards moving back there (originally from Rajasthan).

what do you guys think about my profile and can you guys suggest some other good programs in India. I am trying to explore different programs but gotta admit I am pretty clueless about indian programs.

thanks all for your expert insights...and good luck with your journey...

Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 10-11-2007, 10:28 PM

Hi All,

I am also planning to apply for IIM Bangalore as it seems to be the only one that does not require selected candidates to travel to the campus for an interview. Here is my profile:

GMAT: 720 (Q49, V38 )
Current Industry: IT - Software
Work Ex: 5 years by May 2008
International Ex: 4 years by May 2008
Education: MCA (University merit position)
Extracurriculars: Very good at college, very low afterwards

Any feedback over my chances will be highly appreciated.

Regards
