I made it through CAT only. I believe in Be Indian, Buy Indian (CAT Form)

The two students' profile, as much as I could gather from them, is as follows:
1) GMAT Score = 700 and Work Ex = 46 months. This guy worked for Ashok Leyland for an year after passing out from DCE in 2003, after which he worked for Infy 1 year in India and the remaining (about 2 yrs) in UK.

2) GMAT Score = 750 and Work Ex = 4 yrs. This guy had 3 yr Research Experience and 1 yr Industrial Experience, all in US. He is an IIT Kgp pass out.

For any specific information that you may require, pm me and I would reply you back with their phone numbers. They would love to answer you directly.

For any general queries, you can put them here only

I gathered from an IIM-K passout that probably GMAT-entry students suffer during palcements or get treated differently...is it true ??

Cool Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 06-10-2007, 03:17 AM

Please do not make false allegations on IIM placements ,just on rumours and scare our hard working friends.

WHy would the guys suffer in placements. They are smart guys who have international exposure and which employer would not want a personnel like that ?

Hence relax guys and keep rocking unless we meet back in India.

cheers,
ranjit

Re: NRI Admission to IIM - 06-10-2007, 01:23 PM

Guys, this is a good thread, thanks to all of you.

Im actually not clear on the NRI Term (Underlined) i.e

"Indians resident outside India, and foreign nationals, fall under the "Overseas Candidates" category. To qualify as an Indian resident abroad, a candidate should be an Indian who expects to live, work or study outside India for at least 12 months continuously as of December 15, 2007. Overseas candidates who expect to be resident in India during the period July 1, 2007 to December 15, 2007, will, however, have to take the Institute's Common Admission Test (CAT). "

This is for IIM A. Perhaps someone can help with this. Does that mean that you need to have a grrencard.

Nope. Just means that you need to have stayed outside of India during the time interval mentioned. Because if you were in India during the time of the CAT the IIMs expect you to apply via the CAT route.
