I called them yesterday and was told the same thing - they havnt decided on the final date for communication of the result but interviews would probably be held in March. Late next week sounds good to check again as it will be past one month.

ppl, my assumption was based on last year's process - the interviews took place late march, mostly in april. Anyways, I hope IIMC lets us know asap.

Does anyone know how many overseas candidates were admitted in IIMC last year ?

Actually this information about all IIMs would be very useful. I heard IIMB has around 10 Overseas students - combined for both the batches.

Have you guys got time/date/place for PI? Have you got result for PMIR too?
I have got call for BM but when I called for PMIR they told that they still haven't decided the cutoff?

I applied only for BM but have heard that PMIR cut-off for XAT is usually lower than than for BM. So you should get a call for PMIR also.

Details for the PI have not been sent out yet so guess we will have to wait for some more time.

I don't think it's very wise to simply take rankings on face value. While they are a good reference, I think you really should do your own research. Is one slightly better for the courses you are more interested in? How do the faculty compare? Take a look at each of these college's placements website yourself. If you have the time, prowl the other threads on this forum for those colleges and talk to students already studying there and ask them for what they feel are drawbacks of these schools. I think at the end of the day, there is very little to distinguish a college that's ranked 4 from one that is ranked 5 or 6. It probably will come down to very subjective criteria and in the end you need to be content and satisfied with the decision you make.

That being said, I have heard that IIM L is a very good school. It is supposed to have the best infrastructure, strong courses, good faculty and good placements. I believe it is better than K or I. I don't know enough about XL or FMS to make a comparison.

But do some research of your own. I think it will help you be more confident about the decision you end up making. Best of luck in your search!

Thanks Sandeepan. I totally agree with you that more research is required before making a final decision. I have spoken to a few students and they all tend to agree that most top Biz schools mentioned here are almost similar for domestic placements. A,B and C stand out as they have more overseas placements as compared to others.

Frankly I am not too sure how to compare the faculty except for going by reports and talking to ex-students. And as you said there is hardly anything that separates these schools except for highly subjective factors. For example XLRI is supposed to be the best for HR while others might be good for Finance. Lets hope all of us are able to find what suits us best!
