Not too sure whether this is the right place to post this or not - but any thoughts on IIM L,K and I vs XLRI or FMS? I guess A, B and C are definitely the top 3 IIMs. Have gone through a few articles and XLRI seems to be more sought after as opposed to these 3 IIMs.

XLRI is preferred over IIM K,I. However, IIML and XLRI can be considered on 4th spot.
Some surveys rank XLRI above IIML whle some below.

By the way, has anyone applied to XLRI thru GMAT? Any calls?

Pagalkahinka has heard otherwise, that the interviews will be in April. I spoke with an IIM Cal student who said last year that bulk of the interviews for overseas candidates took place in April but a few were scheduled in late March. He also said that the AdCom folks were fairly flexible, and that we should call to find out the status of our application. However, when I called they told me what they told you that interviews would be in March. I guess next week we can start calling and asking them. Going by the fact that the IIMs seem to take a month to make their decision, I'd say by next week perhaps?

I don't think it's very wise to simply take rankings on face value. While they are a good reference, I think you really should do your own research. Is one slightly better for the courses you are more interested in? How do the faculty compare? Take a look at each of these college's placements website yourself. If you have the time, prowl the other threads on this forum for those colleges and talk to students already studying there and ask them for what they feel are drawbacks of these schools. I think at the end of the day, there is very little to distinguish a college that's ranked 4 from one that is ranked 5 or 6. It probably will come down to very subjective criteria and in the end you need to be content and satisfied with the decision you make.

That being said, I have heard that IIM L is a very good school. It is supposed to have the best infrastructure, strong courses, good faculty and good placements. I believe it is better than K or I. I don't know enough about XL or FMS to make a comparison.

But do some research of your own. I think it will help you be more confident about the decision you end up making. Best of luck in your search!
