Dear Sir/Madam:
I've following questions:
I took GMAT last year (Feb '07) - scored 720 with 4.0 AWA - The score seemed good enough then. However, things have changed in this year and a half.
720 for my application pool (Indian, IT Engineer, Male) is below average. AWA is certainly low. Though I have 6+ years of experience, I feel my profile will be considerably strengthened if I can score 750+ with 5.0 AWA score.
I need your advise here: Should I take GMAT again and submit my application in second round or take chance hoping to get through
and apply in first round?
Also, if you suggest to take GMAT again, can I schedule it for November 24th/25th? In one of the posts here, you mentioned that GMAT
scores should reach you by 10th December. Is there enough time for that? Due to personal reasons, I won't be able to prepare until start of November. So, November 24/25 will give me three weeks to prepare.
Please let me know,
Thank you,
Applicant

Dear sir,
I took a career break in order to prepare for GMAT as the job was very hectic secondly I had plans to start my own consultancy . Will my career break be seen as unfavourable, particulary since I have 5 years of service in army and have worked in corporate for a year in HR post XLRI.

Admissions Team / Menon Sir,
I have a question regarding the application. The 'Scholarship Application' section says that we need not apply for the "merit based" scholarship as all those who secure admission will automatically be considered for the same.
Does this mean that it is not necessary to write the scholarship essay, to be eligible for the merit based scholarship?
Question 2:
We also have to upload our passport as part of the application. Does that mean a scanned copy of the first and last page of the passport will do?
Thank you for your time. -slam.
It ain't just a daydream if you decide to make it your life.

Dear Mr. Menon,
Thank you so much for your prompt replies. - In admissions committe's opinion, what makes a good essay?
- While writing the essay on student body presidential election's speech, I am getting prompted to include an informal tone, since the speech is to be addressed to ISB students - my colleagues. And I assume that they wouldnt like to vote for someone sounding very formal and boring. But, this essay is part of application to ISB, therefore should the tone be necessarily formal?
Thanks and regards, Poonam | | | | | | | |

1. Is the score of 720 so low that a person had to reappear in the test and apply in R2 ?
2. Can you please tell me the average GMAT score in Indian,IT,Male category. Please tell me the AWA score of an average profile.
Thanks,
Sravan
