1. MBA from IMT Ghaziabad full time 2004, Rank 5
2. Good academics all thru
3. Strong Extra curriculars debate, committees etc...
4. Strong work work experience 3 yrs with GE Money as Product Manager and last 1 year with The Royal Bank of Scotland as Sr Manager (Portfolio mangement)
5. 740 GMAT
My concern
My salary @ 16.5 L is considerable higher than the batch average. I want to build on my experience and move to consulting. Will I be able to get a job which pays more than 25L (my BEP).
Wat % of the batch was placed outside India...and what types of jobs these were. The website has little detail on this. Pls elaborate.

Nitin | Nitin, Please note that ISB is a knowledge imparting institution and not a placement agency. Whether you get a salary of 25 lac or not, depends entirely on you, we do not guarantee anything. ISB provides you with world class facilities and gives you a platform that is at par with globally recognized schools. Now, how well you use this to benefit yourself depends upon your personal capabilities. Regarding international placements, 111 international offers were made. For more details on placements, please follow the link http://www.isb.edu/pgp/Placement_Highlights.Shtml

Sakshi. | Sakshi, We don’t have HR as an elective. If you are looking for HR function you can look at our strategy, leadership and change management electives. These take care of the HR function. Also, we do not have many students looking at the HR function. The number of companies coming here for HR is purely a function of Supply and demand. All the students looking into HR function have been placed with out any issues. We have approximately 20-25 companies recruiting for the HR function. There are companies which are purely HR based companies on one side and also other generic companies which recruit into their HR function.

I am asking this because ..
1) I was a Radio Jockey last year..not this.
2) It was just a weekend thing but I did receive a lot of recognition because of that.
Thanks

Thanks, Sai Maddali | Sai, Key things that will help your case are - Gain more exposure into consulting assignments
- Understand – Case analytical platform
- Read books like McKinsey way/McKinsey mind etc. They give you an insight into what really happens in a consulting firm.
- However, consulting companies are not very particular of having a consulting background to be recruited into their roles. Exposure/knowledge about consulting will be an added advantage when you face the interviews.

Thanks in advance for your inputs. | Jathero, In the online application, you have the option of choosing online/offline reco. Please select the offline option and fill in the address details of your recommender. We will send him a hardcopy of the evaluation form. Hi Sir
Thanks for the efforts which you are putting to solve queries of all puys.
My question is related to LOR. I am working in an IT firm since last 2 yrs and have a total experience of 2 yrs only. My question is whether I should ask my Tech. Lead for LOR or my project manager or director of engineering of my vertical. As far as LOR is concerned each of them should give me more or less equally good feedback i.e. in a nutshell what is the effect of position of the person from whom you are getting your LOR.
Further please also tell whether I should go for only one LOR from my company or other one also from my college(IIT Roorkee).
My last point is with GMAT scores receipt at ISB. My GMAT date is 11th of August. I was wondering if ISB would receive my official GMAT score before 15th Sep. By the way what is the weightage of AWA sections for ISB as I find myself little weak for that section. When should I start my application process so that everything reaches to ADCOM within time.
Thanks for your patience. | | | | | | | |

Hi Team,
I have some questions, answers to which I have not been able to find elsewhere. This is not a profile check.
1. I have 16 months of international experience in China out of a total of 26 months of work experience. If I elaborate on the depth and the quality of this experience using the optional essay to highlight my professional maturity, focus and leadership potential, would it substantially strengthen my overall application and negate the impact of my relatively low work experience.
2. Is the Proof of Income used only to confirm that the candidate is employed. Does it serve any other purpose during the application process ?
3. I am entitled to both off-shore and on-site compensation. Do I need to upload proof for both.
Thank You !!!
Warm Regards,
Shankar Ramachandran
