Dear Sir, First of all I want to thank you for spending some of your valuable times to this forum. I am a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering and presently pursuing my research in USA. I worked in Japan after my Doctorate degree for 3 years as R&D group leader. I have some international patents. Will my research background play a negative role in case of my MBA admission to ISB? Thanking you Sincerely Armaan | | | | | | | |

Actually, I have around 13 months of work experience(till date), and a good academic record(NTSE scholarship holder, participation in Olympiads etc.) and a decent participation in Extra-Curricular activities. Sir, if I apply this year, how good are my chances OR should I apply next year ?

Hello Mr. Menon,
I am Sudhir, a Chartered Accountant and a Cost Accountant, with 3.8 yrs of post qualification experience in I banking , treasury and financial planning and analysis.. I am planning to apply to ISB in Round 1. i have couple of questions.
1. I have been working with I banks for last 2 yrs , though as u know the kind of exposure one gets with Indian arms of Global I banks is very limited... i have been planning to apply to isb for last 3 yrs, but waiting for the right time... I am very passionate abt I banking, private equity, M&A, Post ISB i wanna get into front end I banking and work for India.. how do u think my future goal fits in with my ambition to study @ ISB.. as I Banks generally recruit very few people from ISB..
2. Can u help me out with the kind of the profiles global I banks/PE/Hedge funds offer ISB and will my finance background of CA and CWA help me during placements..
Thanks a lot
Regds

Dear Sir,
You replies for various posts have been really useful for many aspirants like me. I really thank u for this initiative to guide us.
Outline of my Profile:
-------------------------------
Academics:
---------------
10th (Matric) - 91 %
12th - 96%
B.E (CEG, Guindy, Anna univ.) - 7.9 / 10 (CGPA)
2007 passed out.
Work Experience:
---------------------
Working in Infosys from June 2007 - Till Date.
Other Achievements:
-------------------------
1. Won second prize in an National Symposium for my paper on Concrete Technology
2.Conducted City level Awareness Programmes on Environmental Awareness and AIDS Awareness in Coimbatore.
3. My innovative ongoing Knowledge Management activities in Infosys, got our Project team 3 consecutive awards named K-Plugged. I am also invited to deliver my innovative practices on Infosys level in event named KM Master Minds on July 11th.
4. Organized many national symposiums in my college as a team. I am planning to take my GMAT coming August. Moreover i am purely dependent on loans and scholarships to pay my fees.
5. Secured School First in nearly five subjects in 10th and 4 subjects in 12th and overall school second in 10th and 12th. School pupil leader in School.
Can u please clarify the following?
----------------------------------------
1. I know i will be short of 2 months of actual 2 years experience. As u said earlier, ppl like me can still get Deferred Admissions. Can u throw us some light on these Deferred Admissions or (writing optimistically) Is there any chance to get admission in 2009 -10 batch.
2. Will the prior experience affect our placement offers In other words, Is Experience proportional to better placements?.
3. Is there any scholarships given by ISB, if any what is the eligibility criteria?
My hearty thanks once again for ur timely guidance.
Warm regards,
Sathish MC | | | | | | | |

Respected Sir,
I am scheduled to take my GMAT on Aug 30th, and would be starting the ISB application process for ISB well before that.
Will there be enough time for me to meet the deadlines?
If my application gets accepted for an interview, is it possible to schedule a telephonic interview? I am currently in US as part of my Job and will not be in India atleast till December for a vacation.
Please do reply.
Thanking you in advance,

1) The application process is completely online and we do not have to send any packet containing any documents to ISB. Plz correct me if I am wrong.
2) Can you please let me know what are the mandatory documents which need to be scanned and uploaded ?
3) I can see that passport and photograph are necessary but I cannot find a place where I can upload my marksheets of engineering. Do i need to upload these.
Thanks for your help in advance. | Yes, the application process is completely online. You need not send any documents to ISB. However, you can choose between online/offline evaluations. The reason for offline evaluation should be convincing for ISB to validate the same. If for any reason your request has been rejected, you will have to go back to the form and opt for the online evaluation. The mandatory documents are listed below: - Photograph
- Passport
- Proof of Income
It will be necessary to submit Income proof for you, your spouse and parents (if currently working), if you are applying for a need based tuition waiver/scholarship. No, you don’t have to upload any mark sheets. Photocopies of mark sheets/Transcripts and Certificates are to be submitted at the time of interview, if short-listed. All overseas applicants may forward soft copies (in pdf) of the same to pgpadmissions@isb.edu , soon after they receive interview intimation. Admissions Team

- You experience in different institutes will not go against you if you can explain it well. You can write about them in the optional essay.
