Two Indian Biggies ISB vs GLIM - 31-05-2008, 04:40 PM

Hi all,
This is my first thread, I am a 4 yrs exp as IT professional, getting 5 lakhs per annum.

Let me first start with how ISB and GLIM, though young in block, but has got the huge attentions from MBA aspirants. The best thing is it offers 1 Year Course, a pretty new concept to indian MBA scenario.

But Personally I feel ISB is costlier comparing to all other 1 or 2 year MBA courses in india. But GLIM , pretty good in placement in pretty lower fee.

But the important question I am about to ask is Which to Choose, GLIM or ISB, I know you would say 'close your eyes and choose ISB, but see my below comparision depicted for 4 yrs exp and salary getting 5 lakhs per annum.

GLIM - average placement salary : 12 Lakhs for 4 yrs exp.
Fee around 6 lakhs.
So the return on investment is doubled or 200%
Also average years of exp : 37 months.

ISB - Average placement salary : 19 lakhs
Average years of exp : 5 years
and in ISB website, it says incoming students CTC hikes to 2.5 times on an average.
So my salary 5 lakhs would be hiked to 12.5 lakhs.
Fee: 19 lakhs
But return on investment is 65% only.

Now tell me which one to choose,
But if you think I have a point in this arguement, please comment

I accept there are various aspects other than salary, like sector change, exposure, etc. But I would say the placements average are pretty same in both.

Please comment on it, If you think my above depiction are wrong , please clarify me why?

Thank You,
Cooolguuy,.
