I know this is not related to this thread as such, but I didnt know where to post it...(If I PMed u, it would not be of help to everyone..)

Both Indiana University and Purdue have a tremendous reputation in Indiana. Purdue though a well rounded university is known more as "the engineering school". As for the bschools of these univs go, Kelley is definitely the more famous one. It has a ferocious reputation in and around Indy (its the pet name for Indianapolis ).
As a city, the standards of living are very high, as they are in most places in the US. Indianapolis, Bloomington and West Lafayette are very affordable places. Recently, Indianapolis was voted the Nation's most affordable housing market. Bloomington and Lafayette are also very safe places to life in. The same cannot be said of downtown Indianapolis, though it is much much safer than some of the bigger American cities. Indy has several upmarket suburbs like Geist, Carmel, Noblesville and Fishers which frequently get rated as some of the best places to live in the US.
The downside is that if you love big city life, you might feel a little bored. Also, the Midwest winter is cruel. :(
Guess I have written an essay already.
Folks, sorry for diluting the Ross thread. But as Sandy said, this might be useful to quite a few people. If there is another place I can put this in, pls let me know.
If you need to know more, pls send me a PM.
Cheers!

Hello all
Count me in. We do not have much participation on this thread. Is there any alumni/current student around ? Please guide us for the whole process.
Regards
Deepak

Hey
Are you guys applying in R1. Due to some personal reason i am tarveling India in last week of september and will come by end of first week of october. This break of more then 10 days is a hinderance for me to wrap up application in R1.
Do you guys agree that for international applicants admit/scholership chances in R2 is lesser then R1?

Whoa....
I was wondering whether there ever is a thread with the current Ross applicants' messages. For some reason, I had missed this one, until now
I am an R1 applicant. In fact, I have already submitted my application (Friday, Sept 12th).
My profile:
GMAT: 710 (balanced Q&V and a decent AWA score)
GPA: Super-duper
Work-ex: 38 months when I join school + 18 months of internships.
Extra-curriculars/Community services: Super (reason: plenty of leadership initiatives/roles)
I'd love to be an active participant on this thread. Since I have already submitted my app, I think I am in a position to help people who are in the process of preparing/submitting theirs. Please don't hesitate in asking me queries concerning the app procedure. Can't help with the contents of ur essays though
Another useful note would be that Ross is visiting India in October. They will be in New Delhi on Oct 13th, Bangalore on Oct 14th, Hyderabad on Oct 16th. and Mumbai on Oct 17th. Please click here for the full list. You can register for these events, if interested.
Cheers.

Hi man,
Gr8 to know that you are already through with the ross apps..I have a few queries.
1) Did u submit the original transripts via courier? I think i saw in their website that you can just scan the original and sent a soft copy via mail. I dont know whether they accept that option. But, is that enough or do we need to get our transcripts done and only then send them in a hard copy?
BTW, in transcripts what exactly do we need to send them? only the huge sheet with all our 8 semester marks or any other stuff too?
2) Did u submit any bank solvency certificate and any affidavit along with ur apps?
3) How long does it take to get ur GMAT scores sent to the school via GMAC?
Have lot of other doubts but will let u know one by one...

Hey dude...
1. You only need to submit a scanned pdf copy as part of the application. You can attach the same to your online application. A hard copy can be sent upon admission. They will notify you when to send the same.
Yeah...the transcript must contain all the courses that you have attended and the marks/grades that you have attained in the 8 semesters. It will be better if it contains a cumulative GPA or an overall percentage with rank/distinction.
2. I did not submit any such document.
3. My GMAT score reached Ross in less than a week.
