Aahh there you go. So you mean to say if there had been an interview centre in Delhi, the Delhi alum would have recommended you for admission based on regional sentiment? And whoever makes it to a top bschool makes it because some alum from his region recommended him? Have you already interacted from Ross alumnus from Chennai (or elsewhere)? Did you see a bias in their approach?

And after making such an outrageous comment, you are talking about the type of country India is? India is a fine country. People are in their senses. Its comments like yours which make life difficult for people.

PS: Couldn't resist this - why do you want to go to Ross? What if all the white Profs give higher grades to the white students and white recruiters select only white candidates? :P
Wwow, what a post? shows someone who has no idea whatsoever bout the job market nd the way interviews work..nyways....

Probably u should contact alums from the best b schools...close ones...I doubt u have done that...else u would have known this...they will tell u how it all works....how placemnts work in india....regional sentiment is something very common...moreover...when I said delhi/bombay/chennai..i am nt too sure if they r villages...probably someone as educated as u can shed some light....

When did my comment project india as abad country??? keep ur figment of imagination with urself....even the best b chool alums try n increase their school guys in their companies....check that out....

Outrageous comment....well there is bias in alum interview...check that out again....there is no point arguing with someone who has done no research nd is here to blabber...

Why am I applying to Ross......well sir, I am not as qualified as you to make into HBS....I am just a stupid comp science engineer from a bad college like IIT...i cant dream big sir...HBS is meant for people with outstanding knowledge like you....all the best...nd yes....it would be good if you can PM me hence forth...dont want to make this forum a personal battlefield...that is if you have time sir..i am sure u would be extermely busy with ur work and sparing time for small timers like me would be tough.

Best regards

What is the date beyond which no interview invite = Ding for Ross? Do they have a deadline for sending out i/v invites? I'm a lil perplexed here to be honest with you all, I thought I had a strong profile for Ross: M/ GMAT 770, 5.5 / 8.5 yrs strong experience +solid career progression, currently managing USD 40 million in Purchasing for a giant European retail chain. I'm a bit disappointed that I havent got an invite yet........maybe I shd now start looking at my R2 school list and applications. Let me know if anyone of you is aware of the last date for getting interview invites from Ross. Thanks!!

Hey...don't loose hope so soon. I believe Ross will be rolling out interview invites till the first week of December. I read this on the BusinessWeek forum.
There's a lot of time left. Keep your hopes alive...mine are!

Why do these schools like to keep us students on tenterhooks, man ?! Waiting for Ross as well. BTW, does the financial aid decision come at the same time as the admit letter ?

Thanks Achyu,
Do you think the schools will be able to come up with a suitable alternative for the CitiAssist program ?

This is the information posted by Ross:

"Thanks to those of you who submitted your application in Round 1. We are in the process of reviewing your applications and will be reaching out for interviews between now and the beginning of December. Decisions will be released on January 15, 2009."

A well-wisher forwarded an interesting piece of information to me. It seems Ross, Harvard, MIT et al are contemplating starting a Hedge fund in order to facilitate loans without co-signer for international applicants. I am not sure how far this is true though.

HTH
